      Why Workout?

      I've been thinking a lot about our bodies and working out and what not. We've all heard of people healing themselves through whatever method; like meditation. Well, why work out? They're our bodies, why not just tell them to make more muscle, or to lose less fat. Also, whose to say it's not possible when the Placebo effect has been proven many times over. Perhaps, just constantly thinking it will cause improvement. I think I'll give it a shot. Or, even better, is work out AND every night meditate and focus on a bigger, strong, slimmer body. I think that both are very good ideas/thing to try lol.

      If you can figure out a way to make that work, you can have infomercials on T.V. at 3 a.m. about a collection of your CD's and pamphlets about how to lose fat and gain muscle by sitting on your ass and having thoughts. You could look into how thoughts can reduce cholesterol, increase endorphin output, cleanse blood, promote healthy activity in all organs, help regulate blood sugar, slow the aging process, increase sex drive, increase mental clarity, strengthen the heart and lungs, and bring about all of the other benefits of exercise. If it works, it will catch on really fast, and you will be a billionaire in a matter of weeks. Good luck.

      Probably the best result comes from staying positive AND working out.

      I dont even know what to say. I wish it were like this. Some bozo at some time said that humans are becoming more "telepathic" as we evolve, and since technology is reducing the amount of time we move around, it may happen one millenium. But, to me it just doesnt seem possible.

      You would still have to eat the right foods. Can't build muscle without protein

      I don't consider working out as a way to get ripped. It's more like making up for all the exercise that a human should be getting by hunting and providing that is replaced with sitting in front of a television in today's society. Gotta stay healthy somehow!

      And I believe that even if it were possible to meditate yourself into physical fitness, you'd end up spending more energy than just working out! Plus you'd probably lose all your friends, but that's a different story...

      I guess theoretically, one can reach a point where one can control, to some extent, specific hormonal releases. That might be dangerous at some level, but let's say that releasing the right hormones for promotion of anabolism is as easy as farting. I'm still unsure if it's just a matter of that happening. Like even if you take steroids, there's a certain amount of work you need to do. I think to build muscles properly, you need to be actiely damaging the tissue and rebuilding it bigger an better. I don't know too much about this stuff though...

      haha i don't know if you can become strong by just wishing. Obviously a good attitude would help but only increase your physical performance and as a result you will get stronger
