The UN And Dangerous People/Its Own Resolutions

No matter what is said, Saddam Hussein was a terrible man. Now, members of this site aswell as people all around the world, criticize the United States of America for not removing the really bad people from power, like the warloards of Africa and the dictators of Central and South America. My main question is, why is this the job of the United States?

It should be known by now that the United Nations is a puppet, spineless organization. So I ask, what is the UN doing to help these people? Are all the nations combining their armies (if the have one) together to march into Rwanda to stop genocide? What about Isreal. So many people bitch about how Israel's tactics are terrible. Why are UN peacekeeping troops there to prevent Hizbollah attacks?

I don't even need to get into the UN's lack of balls, for lack of a better word. They don't enforce the laws they deal out. Its that simple, so nobody will ever fear the UN.

EVERY OTHER COUNTRY of the UN criticizes the United States for taking too much action here, not enough action there, and not doing anything over here. Why is the Unied States the only nation who gets dogged for this? Why does nobody jump on France for letting genocide exist? I'll tell you why. The United States is the mucle, brain, and heart of the UN. We are the ones most held responsible because of this, and people place the blame on the US because they know its true. The fact that the US is blamed the most proves this.

But this thread isn't about the United States. This about the upmost hipocrisy of the UN nations. They literally don't back up their talk.

Fine, I'll play along. The United States is shit. We are all fanatical Christian rednecks who invade countries for oil. Thats TERRIBLE!!! That shouldn't be allowed!!! Well, what is the UN doing to help. Are they in Iraq, patrolling the streets to prevent war crimes and dispense food and water? Is a UN peacekeeping force in Rwanda?

If you answered no to any of these questions, then stop blaming the US for everything that goes wrong on planet Earth. Those countries are just as responsible for letting genocide and world starvation continue. Or are they? Its a double edge sword for other nations.

You know the USA was responsible for putting alot of dictators in power. Through so called "interventions" to suite there own interests.

How do you think the term Banana republic arouse?

anyway i agree with you the UN is a useless piece of shit.

Ill give you this little tid bit of info: The 5 (or however maby i forgot) members of the UN Security council have the 5 biggest arm trades in the entire world.

They are essentially funding the conflicts they have been tasked to solve, in one way or onother.

It is in there best interest that these conflicts continue, they make more money that way.

So the leaders of these other UN countries are just money hungry pigs aswell, who gain their money from inaction, instead of action? Wow. At least the US has the balls to just take what we want instead of idly standing by.

Ya thats right. The USA is famous for funding both sides of a war. Even though they where at the time allied with one of the warring factions.

no no, this thread isn't about the USA. I want to know why the US is portrayed as responsible for the world, and why the UN doesnt send aid to the places they criticize the US for not helping.

Use your own arguments against yourself for a change. Do some self-reflection. Why should the UN go the the countries that have no uneconomical interest for you, thus you don't care about them (dictators in Africa)? And why should the UN help clearing up the mess YOU made?

And why, if the US doesn't have to invade Darfur, why did they need to invade Iraq? Anyone with eyes and a mind, something you both have lost thanks to wide-spread (not just fox news) bad media and gullible, emotionally unstable post-9/11 puppets, could see that Iraq even if they had 1000 nukes, was not in any way a treat to America, or any country for that matter.

It is America's fault for starting a pointless way, that was not thought out in the slightest of ways, and thanks to that utter lack of preparation and rational thought you have plunged Iraq into an anarchistic state of chaos.

It wasn't Just the mistake of invading Iraq, the mistakes in no way started there. The last 6 years have been a cascade of mistakes, bad judgement and vile political games for the American government, and by lack of stong rational criticism, of the American people as a whole.

Enough shit talk about America. We are the great evil. We are the cause of every single problem in the world....bla bla bla. Enough with it.

This is about the inaction of all other nations, including your own. Why should you be involved in a mess we created? Because we've gotten involved in the messes you've created! Not to mention the fact that the UN is supposed to be a peacekeeping organization. With the power of every country in it, the UN should be in every single conflict ridden area of the globe, no matter of who's fault it is. Instead, your nations stand by and do nothing.

Do you agree with me that the UN is a huge waste?

The UN has GREAT potential. And the idea behind it is a great one, that certainly will have to be, and will be realised for a more peaceful world. However, it has not lived up to it's potential. The world isn't far enough yet. I think that in 50 years, the UN or an organisation quite like it, will work more like the UN is supposed to now. And maybe after even more time the UN will do exactly what the idea behind it is.

Still, just because the UN can't live up to the utopistic, great, peaceful ideology, doesn't mean it was a mistake to invest in trying to create such a thing that stands for an unification for a more peaceful, better world.

I know the UN doesn't do all it is supposed to do. and it is famous for its "inaction"

But maybe it would help if we could pin point the problem. Why didn't the UN do anything during the Rwanda?

What cog in teh beauratic machine causes it to do nothing?

Can we pin point specifically what is responsible for the inaction?

Is it lack of interest by member nations?

      Really what's going on here?
