I can't personally say that I would want to live forever, but I know that when I die (if my life goes well) I will be ready. However, I will be bummed at the fact that I won't being able to see how the future unfolds. Possibly if I were to be reincarnated in a couple hundred years that would satisfy my curiosity. That is unlikely to happen though.

I'm pretty sure all will end well, I have faith invested in human kind.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

You guys are talking about living forever despite your age right? Or is this hardcore immortality no matter what?

I think it is a better idea to extend your life greatly rather than live forever. I would like to live for several thousand years so I can see the wonders of the future. If you lived forever, what if we were all enslaved by cruel alien overlords?

Basically the topic of this thread is about the idea of living in perfect health, without ever having to succumb to old age or cancer.

Hmmm...I'd probably want to live for 1,000 or so years, but then die simply because of curiosity. I'd be like, 'what now?'

Ah, well if you want to go that route, I'll just have to bring up conservation of energy, and how it can still be turned into an infinite variety of new things :p.

There is still a limited amount of anything you make, every single "new" thing to do, make, destroy will run out eventually, even if that means a million million google bla bla bla years. Unlimited time Limited amount of stuff. The things you could do might seem unlimited to you (meaning a human), but we are very very small and pathetic, so even if a million seems a big number it isn't. Infinite > finite

That depends on how far the uncertainty principle really goes.

Sorry, I missed that post. My uncertainty principle comment was meant to be more tongue-in-cheek and extremely abstract. I just feel that with the ridiculously limited knowledge we have of the world, any speculation on finiteness of possibilities is ill-informed. And we've been talking about running out of things to make out of matter, but there are other things out there. Like an infinite amount of irrational numbers .

i wouldnt want to live forever in this world. the earth. but i am interested in exploring a second realm that is not known to us. it may be the same thing or something completly different. or a nothingness void.. but i still want to live as long as can in this world as to be prepared for the next. when i retire i plan to enlighten myself as much as possible.

I believe that when we die, we are gone forever. Just a decaying body and bones until thats gone. But, im not afraid of death. I still wish i would live forever as long as i didnt age the whole time. imagine what a billion year old man would look like. my balls would be sagging on the floor!

If something as simple as counting is infinite, why can't other, more interesting, things be infinite as well?

I think you'd run out of air eventually. The same thing for other stuff. It's really hard to think about it. I still think that you can't do infinite stuff in here. Tell me one intersting thing to be done forever...

People would wind up like the people from highlander.

You would live so long you would forget your old lives...just because you don't think about them anymore...

Then something/someone would come along and you would have flashbacks of entire life times!!!!
