I remember. It was new year 2001 (or was it 2000?) and nobody cared. At least not where I live.

Isn't the "shit" (lol I mean shift) the event when the Earths magnetic feild shifts around? So north will be south and the other way around. Leaving us unprotected for a short while to "evil spacey radiation". I heard that it could happen any time now, because there are some anomalies showing up in the field. Oh well.

The fact that North will be South doesn't really sound evil, please explain.

it just means the poles which switch roundor something. Like North will be south, south will be north. I think they fear that when that happens the Earths magnetic feild wont be strong for a period of time until it balances out again and maybe radiation will be let through or something...

As they said. The only thing protecting us from various kinds of radiation, like solar flares, is the magnetic field. When it flips, it will leave us unprotected for some X amount of time. Did you know that a trans-Atlantic flight exposes you to an amount of radiation, equal to one X-ray session? That's why flight attendants have lots of problems with cancer and other gene mutations like that. Space is full of fun and fancy physics stuff like that. Also many astronauts saw flashing lights when looking out the window, which was cosmic radiation screwing with their eyes. They also had problems with their eyes later in life. There are so many things that could go wrong, it's awesome. At least we won't be bored.

Well, I just hope to fuck that nothing happans.

At least some people in the world believe it won't happan.

Just hide in the bath, it'll all be fine.
