Hemi-Sync/Brain-Sync: A Sound Approach to Conscious Evolution

(NOTE: when listening/watching to these videos please have on stereo headphones.)

      Main Site

I recommend the "Between Worlds", and "Cloudscapes" videos to start off...

As for strictly Binaural Beats, I recommend trying out the "Alpha", "Theta", and "Delta" brainwave inducing videos listed on the page before moving on to more intense ones.

      Alpha - Total Relaxation/Creativity
      Delta - Resorative Sleep/Deep Meditation/Intuition
      Theta - Deep Learning/Strengthen Memory

The easiest way of applying stimulus to the brain is via ears and eyes. Since humans cannot hear sounds low enough to be useful for brain stimulation, special techniques must be used. One such special technique used is called binaural beats.

If the left ear is presented with a steady tone of 495Hz and the right ear a steady tone of 505Hz, these two tones combine in the brain. The difference, 10Hz, is perceived by the brain and is a very effective stimulus for brainwave entrainment. This 10Hz is formed entirely by the brain. When using stereo headphones, the left and right sounds do not mix together until in your brain. The frequency difference, when perceived by brain this way, is called a binaural beat.

The patented Hemi-Sync® process has been refined with over 40 years of research and development. Ongoing experimentation, data collection and analysis are conducted at The Monroe Institute's laboratory facilities to demonstrate the correlations between subjective experiential reports and objective electronic measurements.

Such research is indispensable in revealing the influence of specific Hemi-Sync sound patterns on consciousness. Over the years, these efforts have resulted in the development of scores of individual products for specific applications such as focused attention, stress reduction, meditation, sleep enhancement, and pain control, to name a few.

      Thoughts?

[Edit: It's times like these that I'm glad I have the award winning Beyerdynamic DT-880 Headphones]

You know, I've played with Binaural beats for many years now. Maybe it's time to try them again. I got a nice set of Bose QC2's from my lovely wife for Christmas, they should work really well.

I'm off to download a few of those videos and then convert them for my personal video player. I'll try to get back to this thread in a few days with comments.

Cool, I'll definitely try this out. I just wish their programs had more concrete claimed results than things like 'creativity' - that sort of thing is very hard to separate from a placebo effect. I'll try the Delta and the Delta&Theta ones, and see if anything interesting happens.

Well certain states can be labeled as "creative". I know that when I go to sleep, I sometimes feel like solving problems and being creative .

I've listened to some before and it's certainly weird and relaxing but I don't WILD so I don't use them very often. I remember getting a video out of the library when I was younger and they talked about out of body experiences and stuff I think but there was a section a binaural beats. All I remember is my parents weren't home and I felt like I shouldn't be watching it lol.

Thanks for making an excellent page...

Many lucid moments were had from the stuff on that page.

The effect this will have on you largely depends on the individual. It's a science but each person depending on what they are trying to achieve needs different ways of using this. I don't know much about this though I have never gone into it deeply. Just a few tracks off the net. I found different sorts of music can have varies effects and this is an extension of using sound.

I can't really say much about it other than what is already covered.

I'm big into music and how my favorite songs put me in a special place, I'll have to try out listening to these beats and see how it affects me..

Kashmir always puts me into a mood.
This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

I'm listening to the binaural beats now. They are fantastic. Placing me in a state of mind that I usually feel when high, but minus the intense fog.
