Thread: May 2008 (LHC) Particle Accelerator - Miracle or Catastrophe?

Anyone who knows the basic physics of a black hole knows that these black holes (if they are as small as they claim) will not destroy the earth if they do not evaporate. We could have millions and billions of these black holes (again, assuming they are as small as they claim) oscillating through the earth, passing through our bodies, and we would not notice a thing.

Let's turn this thing on already!

The difference being that those black holes are traveling at a significant fraction of the speed of light, where-as created black holes would be stationary.

Well if we all die then no one will be around to complain.

Also, isnt there people who think black holes send you to a different time zone anyway? Im not saying this, but it would be a good reason to build one if you want to go to a different time..

But also im one of the people who think that black holes will pull you into a pencil thin human and you will die.. but it would be a fun way to die no doubt.

Couple o' months, nobody was really speculating anything bad'd happen just by accelerating particles.

Even if that is what's happening, I thought they were still just getting ready.

Next week they'll be like "We totally smashes particles that day, we just didn't tell you!"

Ha ha...well I think we all know that the world as we know it won't end until December 21, 2012.



That being said, if these scientists should somehow destroy everything we should all keep in mind that it would probably only take about another 13 billion years before humanity is resurrected in the galactic soup of energy.

It's just a shame that when the entire human race gets crushed I won't be able to yell "Ha! where's your messiah now?".
