Thread: Students attempt Citizens Arrest on Rove

Actually, it is pretty widely believed that after Bush leaves office several people in the administration will be brought up on charges ranging from treason (Rove) to war crimes (Bush). The liberals don't want to charge them now because Bush has proven that he will simply pardon them and they'll go free (Libby?)

I forget if it was Libby, I don't feel like looking it up right now, but he did it for someone else who was linked to leaking the spy's identity. Didn't he also pardon Gonzolez for something, or were they unable to convict him?

I'm glad to hear that, hopefully when bush steps down they will try him but i doubt it.

If they don't charge him immediately after his replacement takes office I'm sure the UN will continually pressure us to do so.

There's always the small chance he might not relenquish power when his time is up though.

He's stupid, but not that stupid.

I've been saying that for a looooong time. I'm sure he'll declare some state of emergency or some up with some reason for Martial Law when hes about to get the boot.

What percentage of the military do you think would back him up if he tried some crazy shit like that? Without back up, he has no more power than any other man his size with whatever gun he is holding.

I was genuinely concerned about Bush maneuvering to maintain power back in 2004, but the tide has turned too far against him now, and I can't imagine a manufactured crisis that would turn it back.

I think it was a real danger for a while--Bush has demonstrated complete disdain for our founding documents, our ethical integrity, and most of the American people, repeatedly prioritizing the enrichment of his old-money cohort over the well-being of our nation and humanity in general. I don't doubt his political machinations would extend to subverting term limits if he saw the chance, but even bringing the troops home for a nationwide parade with Osama's head on a pike wouldn't do it for him now.

Maybe McCain will take Bush on as vice-president, then procede to walk off of a tall building, giving Bush back the chair.

All in all, that would be better than having Cheney take over.

All? Only 1/10 of our active duty soldiers are in Iraq. Besides, I was talking about what it would take for Bush to stay in the presidency when his term ends. He needs something backing him up. Otherwise, a White House security guard will escort him to the street.
