Darfur: Genocide?

Hello guys. In school I'm in a club called stand. Our yearly project this year was to raise the awareness of the Darfur, Sudan conflict. Supposedly killing 400,000 people.

The project was finished, and after reading a WWII autobiography from a Jew in a concentration camp, (called Night) I was saddened in the thought of how primitive and ignorant our species still is.

So I decided to do research on Darfur. To my surprise I was convinced it isn't a genocide.

It was called the Darfur genocide by U.S.A. And apparently it has the third largest oil reserve in Africa.. In the school awareness we stated 400,000 have died, but only 58,000 was recored.

The U.N recently stated it is not a genocide but a civil war. THEN, I realized that Somalia, and parts of the Congo have more deaths. But there are no oil reserves there..

So what do you guys think? I will be very saddened to find the fact that me trying to help out, have actually helped the false flag operation of a country.

Just post your opinions and discuss. Genocide or not? Humanitarian forces or oil? Sudan's government helping or not?

My understanding is that it is genocide, but I can't say I know that much about the situation. I know some Sudanese who live in my city and went to the school where I used to teach, and their parents were murdered in the disaster, whatever label you want to put on it. I know that it involves deliberate "ethnic cleansing" of Sudanese civilians. It is evil, intentional mass murder of civilians. Pick whatever word you like.

I don't understand what importance the oil has. The United States has no plan of interfering. Single region genocide alone has never been enough to call for something as serious as war for the U.S., but it is always a major concern. It is a major factor to consider when deciding to go to war, but it alone has never been enough. It seems like the U.N. should get involved and stop the nightmare, but we all know how bad the U.N. sucks these days.

Yeah, that is unfortunately the story of their existence in these times. They should be all over genocide everywhere it exists. I don't understand why they even have meetings any more.

The Leage of Nations (before called U.N after WII) Didn't do shit during the WWI, or WII, they had no real power.

They helped liberate a lot of Eastern Europe and helped us get the Hussein regime out of Kuwait. They wouldn't do any of that now.
