As I said, there's no call for comparison. But solidarity with people who are unjustly the victims of people in power is always important. Humans have to look after each other.

Independence Day is probably one of my favorite holidays. I celebrate it because of the fact that america was founded by so many free thinking minds with an idea of democracy, a way better founding than by some guy with a bunch of close friends creating a monarchy or a dictatorship.

In 1776 they celebrated freedoms that some had never dreamed of having.

Now, 232 years later those freedoms, and many, many more have been systematically stripped away by none other than an oppressive government.

I don't celebrate Independence Day, and I won't until we are free again, until our freedoms have been restored to this once great country.

Me too. Amen to that!

Anyone that supports gun control laws (bans, more accurately) and are American really can't complain about rights being taken away, considering it's in our Bill of Rights, and you support that right being stripped from us.

So, that makes me wonder. How many Americans in this thread that complain about George Bush taking away our rights are in favor of gun control laws that ban the use and ownership of firearms?
