In truth that does not sound like a cure. At present you can eliminate cold symptoms with enough over the counter medicine. |

ZOMG I read in the daily mail yesterday that there was one. Yes, that paper again. I can't help it it's so addictive to read. It said that a pill had been developed which has been proven to remove all the symptoms of a cold and so far I haven't found any evidence on the net to back this up. Plus I found it rather odd as to why it wasn't front page news. Wouldn't CURE FOR COMMON COLD! AMAZING MEDICAL ADVANCEMENT be exciting enough for people! Are the editors just being assholes and playing with us! I'm tearing my hear out!!!!! |

A cure isn't impossible; it just requires a level of technology that we don't have right now. A cure for the cold would involve injestion of specially tailored molecules that would target and destroy the infected cells and the viruses. |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
Well I wouldn't consider eliminating any infested cell or virus a good thing. Sure, eliminate dead cells, but damaged cells can be repaired. And who said anything about legs growing back? My point is if you have a lot of infested cells, and you eliminate all of them, you will have no cells left in that area with which to rebuild. It's like having a lamp repair shop, but using a shot gun as your only tool to fix lamps. Sure, you can just blow it away and buy a new one, but that's not fixing it. |

Who the hell would want a cure? A cold is the best excuse for time off work! |

I say halt all the finding a cure for the common cold nonsense and focus on viruses that actually do significant harmszszssz. |
|
Yar, precisely. And it'd be even easier if more people washed their hands. |
|
yes, i wash my hands a lot and my parents used to think i was verminophobic and then i'd bring up the point that i'm hardly ever sick either and then they caught my drift for why i wash them a lot. i'd say the past.. 10 years if not more, i've only been sick to where i went to the doctor only once, and i could of toughed that out but didn't want to, it was a bad sinus infection. |
|
Good point, I had not even wondered why science had apparently not been focusing on worse diseases. And thank god the thread got back on track or we'd be amputating people's noses. GOD sometimes I wish that could be done actually! |

The cure for the common cold has already been found. It is chicken noodle soup, Dayquil, a few kisses from mommy, and Sprite. This is old news. |
