I'm wondering how many people on this forum will be affected by hurricane ike. I've been watching the news about it all day, and so far, it feels...FRIGHTENING. It's shocking that after seeing this GULF SIZED HURRICANE charging for the texas coast - that some people actually opted to stay in their coastal homes.

homes that are already, flooding even though the actual hurricane is still hours away! I mean, some are already calling galveston, ground zero. For those of you who haven't been watching the news, the warning was given, leave or face "certain death". And the news people say, its the first time ever those words "certain death" have been used for a hurricane warning.

Even though the news has mostly focused on galveston - I got a bad feeling louisiana is gonna be a disaster zone again. Ive already heard of news about the levees..leaking?! What makes ike so scary to me, is how much of the coast is being affected. how many homes will be destroyed. from mexico all the way to florida.

and for the rest of you americans who don't care! our gas prices are expected to go up a dollar at the least by tomorrow!

I live in san antonio, kinda sad Ike isn't going to affect us more. we could use some more storm this way. in the mean time, we'll be taking care of everyone who fled.
