Exclamation Would Obama Be a Shoe-In If He Were White?

I was watching CNN and the Cafferty files the other day. Cafferty posed a question for viewers to comment on his blog about -> "Will Obama's race cost him the white house?" He answered some responses on his show...they were averaged...half said no it won't cost him the white house and others regretfully said it just might. I'm more of an optimistic person and I like to think that America has progressed beyond such trivialities...but am I wrong? I'm interested in hearing your views on this. Vote now.

I think obamas race is a large part of why he will win. A lot of people(black and white) are gonna vote him just because he's black and theres never been a black president.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

I disagree with that. I think that a majority of blacks are voting for Obama because he's black...excuse me...half black. But I don't think whites will vote for him for the same reason.

Not most of them, but some theres a lot of white people who I think feel bad about slavery etc.

But a large part of why obama was able to get so popular is because he's black. He's got so much damn media coverrage, theres no way mccain's gonna win. Especially with palin. That lady is absolutely insane.

I think his race helps, it makes him more interesting. Now if he'd only chosen Hillary as his running mate, THEN he'd be a shoe-in.

It might not be the deciding factor in his election but it will probably be the deciding factor in his assasination.

The hicks that want to assassinate him are just that...hicks. Who probably don't know a lick of correct grammar but know how to operate a gun. I can't see them getting near Obama if/when he's elected in November.

If Obama were white, none of us would have ever heard of him.

As much as I trash Obama because he sucks so bad, I do see value in the fact that a black person has gone so far in politics. That much by itself is a great thing. For the first time in American history, a major party's presidential candidate is black. That alone is progress. However, I think it is really unfortunate that it has to be somebody with so little experience and such an unproven record on top of being so personally involved with people who absolutely despise the United States and have even attacked us. It is too bad that when we finally reach an age where a black person can be a major presidential candidate, it has to be somebody like that. Not only will he most likely not be elected. If he is elected, he will be an embarrassment and will make it much harder for black people to be major candidates in upcoming decades. If somebody like Condoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, or Walter Williams had reached the level instead, I would consider it much greater progress and would know that their potential presidencies could open the big door and make it stay open permanently. An Obama presidency would just close the door back and lock it for a while.
      You are dreaming right now.
