I see a familiar trend with a lot of things. Any video posted that shows an extraordinary feat, an amazing talent or a hilarious situation is always called "Fake" by more than a few. As if these events can't happen at any time.
Every thing is in someway related to a conspiracy to a good number of people. Ranging from the elections, to our drinking water, to the sky, to space, to the ads you see on TV, to the comedians who talk at your local club. Its as if there is no room for coincidence, opinions or anything unless its related to a big secret or someone out to get you.
Once you tear down one fake, everything you see is "fake."
Once you see one conspiracy, everything you see is a conspiracy.
I think its the same Syndrome now with McCain. People let their views and biases cloud there judgment, as if its impossible for McCain to say anything good or make even a single good point.
One can claim "If he didn't do that, the media would tear him apart." Does it really matter? Because he did do it, you people are tearing him apart. It makes no difference, the man is trapped between a rock and a hard place. There's no winning in this world.
It's the same for Obama in the case of McCain supporters. But the fact of the matter is, how hard is it to believe he was honest about that point?
Palin is the one who's been advocating the fact that Obama is a "terrorist," and hasn't even tried to calm down her crowds when they would say such things in-front of her.
How hard is it to believe that McCain the initiative to quell the bullcrap that these people are spouting to him?
Again, I don't agree with McCain, but he has at least some decency in him. I enjoy watching people make him out to be as if theres no shred of human decency in him, as if hes pure evil and the devil incarnite, meanwhile condemning the McCain supporters who say the same about Obama.
The hypocrisy of people astounds me.
So because McCain says Obama is not a terrorist, and that Obama is not an Arab, hes playing the media and therefore those statements make him an intolerant human being.
While we're at it, lets talk about how he said Obama is a good person after someone called Obama an Arab. He must be implying that all Arabs are bad people. Shit, Burn him at the stakes!
This is why I don't vote. There is no room for the thinking man. Its those who are extreme supporters that make the results. Everyone else's vote is useless.
You strike up good points Exobyte and I would be inclined to agree with them, however...being so close as this election is and given the fast approach of Nov. 4th...I'm MORE inclined to think that any move, phrase, comment being said by both campaigns have "political point scale" agenda's behind them. Why didn't McCain speak out when one of his supporters screamed out "Terrorist!" during a rally? Or even more recent, when one of his supporters screamed out "Kill him!" when the topic was on Obama during a rally? On CNN, they said that McCain and Palin have every right to have those persons removed from the rally. Infact, an FBI investigation is being done into those who screamed out "Kill him!" during the rally...not being done by McCain. But Arab...Arab had to be the straw that broke the camel's back? Don't forget this is the man who went on t.v. saying he's halting his campaign to go figure out this bailout deal and canceled his interview with Letterman because he said and I quote "We're going to go save the country". Where did he end up going? Not back to Washington as he told Letterman he had to go to, but to a CBS interview.
Look, my point on the matter is that...if he wanted to gain "points" with people and play up his self-proclaimed "maverick" status then he's doing a damn good job of it. These tactics aren't exclusive to McCain either. McCain's job is to do whatever it takes to turn the tide of the current polls, and Obama's job is to stay ahead in the polls. Had the roles of been reversed, you'd probably be seeing similar ploys from Obama. As I said before, I have no doubt in my mind that McCain is a decent, honorable great man. He's fought for our country and is a true warrior...but this isn't a war he's fighting in and he's not in a prison camp...this is an election and we know how dirty, conniving, left-winged, right-winged those can get. Lest we forget that BOTH campaigns have run smear ads to sway voters? What makes you think that they can't simply turn it around and say good things to do the same thing? If I were in McCain's shoes or any senator or governor that was running for presidency and the race was not falling in my favor and we had 20+ days till the big day...every word I say in the public, every smile I made, my body language all of them would reflect my ultimate intent. In politics, voters leave very little room for error.
