Based on what I know about her, she has been a Hell of a good governor of Alaska but has a lot of shortcomings in understanding the world outside of Alaska. She did a lot to stand up to and inhibit corrupt oil company practices, and it seems like the left would appreciate that. I also think she could have taken some time to learn a great deal about foreign affairs and been a good vice-president eventually, but unfortunately with that typical Republican tendency to try to force holy roller ideals on the whole country. But I guess learning foreign policy is not something that needs to be done in office.

I was for the McCain/Palin ticket only because I think Obama is way too close to socialist, which is out of the question during bad economic times. I am very worried that he is about to charbroil out economy. But Palin and McCain were not people I was all that gung-ho for. I am so tired of never being passionate about a candidate. The options always suck.

Looking back, I very seriously question whether McCain even wanted to win. He came across like he regretted running and wanted to lose. He did such a half ass job of campaigning. Maybe he was secretly working for the Democrats? I don't put anything past politicians.

While there are no significant updates to the website, I have found another interesting site. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/ I'm interested to see what the site will say in four years.

Interesting, I agree with UM this time, I didn't vote in the past election for quite a few reasons:

Mccain certainly wouldn't of got my vote, ever..for too many reasons

And as for Obama, I didn't vote for him for one main reason, he thinks he can spend our way out of this recession, which will create more problems imo will cause another great depression.

I don't know what planet democrats come from but you cannot water down and spend over another recession, economies expand and need to also contract, which are recessions, we need to just bite the bullet and tough out the recession with NO more bailouts or stimulus, stimulus will create further problems.

I think the direction Obama is heading is indeed socialism, but I think McCain would of probably gone down the same route, his big idea during his campaign was to buy up all the bad debt, which is government intervention, hence socialism, but a lesser form then Obama, either way were getting socialism from both major 2 parties.

I'm pretty sure you can summerise all UM's argument like this

X=left
left is bad
Therefore, X is bad.

On Sarah Palin, she did pretty unethical things in office like troopergate.

Free market Republican philosophy has failed, badly. It's now time for heavily regulated banking system with the Government controlling the banks. The bankers and Republican have messed up badly.

I'm pretty sure McCain wanted to win. He just couldn't stop change. The anwser to the worlds problem is not a person who was second best too Bush.

Free market hasn't failed, under bush and even reagan the market wasn't free, the illusion of a free market was there, so that when it failed they could blame the free market, so they can nationalize banks and usher in failed policies of socialism which infact are proven to fail, unlike a true free market, but to my knowledge the markets haven't truly been free in a very long time, maybe before the depression and the Fed we had true free markets, and once the fed took over they blamed the gold standard and hyper-deflation on the free market meanwhile they were purposefully plunging us into a depression to make us believe fiat currency was a better system then a gold standard.

I don't see why it wasn't the bankers' faults. They were doing all sorts of dumb shit just to make as much money as they could, and it's resulted in a serious recession. Of course there should have been more regulation.

Does it have anything to do with some of Sarah Palin's extremely right wing views that I said I disagree with or any of the things I said that were unrelated to liberalism and conservatism?
