What matters to us? Where are we going? If it was me I would have felt like ..."you have nothing, your life has not turned out how you thought it would, let me help you. Get a job and you can rent a room from me because at least you are clean." We are only here a short while, lets give the most we can.

As for your question, we aren't "a kind of people", we are individuals. That's the first problem with your question right there. Being good hearted and selfish aren't mutually exclusive, so that's a second problem. As for the story, I don't see how you can seriously sanction a person just breaking into someone's house and stealing stuff for a year? I wanna see you come home and find that some bum stole your food and used your shower, even once, let alone for one year. Only because you're poor you're not allowed to act like a big asshole. I have no knowledge of the Japanese social system but I find it hard to believe that crime is the only way for a poor individual to stay alive there. Also, I don't see how having stolen from a guy for a year qualifies this guy to become her new personal coach or something? That makes absolutely no sense at all. I'm sure there are plenty of people living in your area, why don't you let them live with you? You know, at least they're clean. Homelessness and poverty are large scale social problems. You don't solve them by handing out free soup on Sundays, and certainly not by tolerating serious crimes. You need to have an actual political idea of what's going on.

People are loving, friendly and empathic by nature. If humans descend into hatefull feelings and the corresponding hatefull behaviour it is a Distraction/Deviation from their natural empathic, compasionate nature. It makes biological sense too: Love is in favor of Survival, Hate is against it. Love is constructive, Hate is destructive. I love people, because I see that the underlying nature of all humans is love and compasion. It hurts and upsets me to see people participate in wars, racism, slavery..etc, because I love them. Love is natural, hatred is a mass confusion.

hatred is natural as well. It can stem from trying to pass your genes and ensuring your ideas are the ones which win competition against other ideals. Competition is just as essential to survival as love because there will always be someone trying to jip you to get ahead.
