      Phantom Limb

      Article

While it's not exactly the same, does this seem to anyone else to be similar to the "dream body" in lucid dreaming? I can't even imagine how awesome it would be if I could move my dream body, and feel it/see it, in the real world. And to provoke thought, I wonder if it would be possible to "experience" a phantom person the same way she experiences the phantom limb. A person your mind can hear, see, touch, smell...taste I guess. Seems pretty amazing if you ask me.

That's remarkable.. I didn't know it could occur for people who did not have an amputation. Ahh they didn't say which side of her brain lit up with respect to her third limb though, or where it was on her body (or if it could be moved around anywhere for that matter). The fact that she can't move it through physical objects is quite profound, I wonder what that means? Perhaps she really is psychologically experiencing a form of partial astral projection?

This raises so many questions. I agree, it's amazing.

He talks about the phantom limb in the second part. Even though
I almost find the first more interesting.

My roommate brought this story up to me yesterday, and I've been thinking the same things. I hope we get some more information on this at some point...
