Wow. Gay.
I am also glad Jeff is not a moderator. But yes the rules state no picking on individual members. Which you did.
We were just saying mass deaths would be a good thing.
lol, exactly...
I can only see two possibilities: either you are pretending to have the intellectual capacity of a gnat, or... you have the intellectual capacity of a gnat.Quote:
Says the atheist. Twist it any way you want to but you DID just tell a fellow dreamviews member to kill them-self Xei.
That fellow member was suggesting we kill billions of people and I was pointing out that there was no reason he should be exempt from his own policy.
He was the one promoting his suicide, not myself. Personally I think human life is very valuable.
:l
Yeah, what I got was that Xei was just pointing out the sheer illogicallity, cruelty and stupidity of the "people dying is a good thing" philosophy.
I have a few questions:
What states in the U.S have had the most confirmed cases?
Haven't been watching the news :-(
Thanks for the clarification, guys :/
Only one confirmed death in U.S, yes?
lol... yesh I think UM has you confused with somebody.
There's two deaths in the USA guitarboy I believe, one of an infant which had just returned from mexico, and one of a woman who was already sick. So at the moment it's no worse than seasonal flu. That could change however.
My point still stands. I just want lots of people to die but not people I love or me. That's not hypocritical. It's human nature.
If we keep populating and fucking up the Earth as much as we are now then we are ALL fucked. Ergot, you are the ones that are morally bankrupt.
You want everyone to die. Or at least more than the number that would from a massive flu.
I liken it to the anti-abortion/contraception people. The pope and shit goes to Africa telling them to not use condoms. Wat the fuck is that? Sure 1 sperm out of millions might survive. But for everyone one of those the whole population gets hungrier and poorer.
Who's got the better morals there? Me or them?
neither
The earth could easily be inhabited by 15 billion people,
it's more about the distribution of ressources.
And to say that wanting many people to die except oneself
or the loved ones is not human nature. It is your opinion, which
you are entitled to (and I do see where you are coming from).
That doesn't make it morally right, maybe to you, but not to many else.
And who do those things (,if real,) really hit then? The poor
people, who weren't leading very wasteful lifes in the first place.
The problem we are overpopulated is not because there are so
many people on the planet, it is because the upper 10% are living
way beyond their means. Or else put: We are living way beyond our means.
If you want to start somewhere, start with yourself. This doesn't mean
you should kill yourself, but that it applies in general. There are no 'other'
people, noone you have to 'change' but yourself.
I agree with some of your post. I don't agree with the not human nature part. It is human nature to do this. We want to kill other tribes but not our own. Basic survival.
I agree with the population thing. Scientists have figured out that if the whole world consumed like the U.S does we would need 3 Earth's.
But if people aren't going to change then I'm happy with something killing us off.
Yes it might hit the poor people more, but maybe not. Less people visit those countries. However they have crappy medication. But if something comes along which is immune to all medication that is negated. I've also often thought about stealing SHITLOADS of medication from drug companies and bringing it to those poorer nations. So don't think that I'm morally bankrupt.
And I don't agree with no one I have to change but myself. I find purpose in changing other people.
I think we are a collective species. The 'everyone for himself'
attitude in my eyes is a premise, that has successfully been
installed in our minds by the fast-pace society. Elbow Society.
Basically, we have been manipulated.
But this totally depends on what 'human' means to you.
The only real change comes from within. If you tell someone
else to stop doing something, usually, you don't get anywhere.
(Try ;) ) First, there has to be a true understanding of the situation.
And also, I don't think it is my place, to tell anyone else
what is right and what is wrong - who am I to judge? I'm
busy enough figuring things out for myself.
If it was up to me, I'd tell everyone to stop listening to anyone
but themselves. Stop following. I want to have people freely
expressing themselves, not living the way I or anyone else considers right.
I didn't think you were morally bankrupt, though.
(And of course, all just my point of view)
