Sounds like bollocks.

It's gonna be painful however though. If it happens via the natural course then it'll be through mass starvation and possibly widespread disease. The degree to which violence will be a factor remains to be seen, but judging on how bad things have gotten over the previous century essentially about stupid little things, it doesn't bode well for when the shit really hits the fan.

Look, I did read each article in their entireties, and they are bollocks. In fact, I find it hard to believe that anyone can take these seriously.

Here's the first article in a nutshell:

• Eugenics is bad.
  • Okay.
• Some people think eugenics is good.
  • But the article doesn't implicate anyone who actually matters.
• 35 years ago, the US toyed with the idea of withholding food from certain countries.
  • The same US document also considered the following programs aimed at the least developed countries (LDCs):
    • "Providing Minimal Levels of Education, Especially for Women"
    • "Reducing Infant and Child Mortality"
    • "Expanding Wage Employment Opportunities, Especially for Women"
  • In fact, I'm only taking the part about withholding food on faith, because I couldn't actually find that in the document. (It's quite long.)

What is the point of this article??

The second article consists of the wild allegations of a radical political activist against bioethicist Ezekiel Emanuel of the National Institutes of Health. The activist's rhetoric, including unfounded and unapologetic comparisons to Nazi Germany, lends itself far better to fear mongering than to fair and rational thought. My understanding is that the proposed health plan would not provide free preventative treatments to certain groups; it would, however, provide other, more important health care treatments. Furthermore, since no form of health care is currently dispensed by the US government, it's incredibly misleading -- false, even -- to imply that the health plan would "take away" anything from anyone.

This took only the most cursory probing on my part. The fact that you gobble up these conspiracy theories without even thinking about peeking below the thick surface layer of rhetoric and bias is frankly depressing.

i would make the case that 95% of people are wither scptics or blind believers. the other 5% see blind believers and skeptics resembling eachother as both side of the same coin.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the B6 which is used to increase dream vividness is found in dietary supplements. The type of B6 that was banned was found in certain types of food, but not was not used in dietary supplements. Still haven't got the faintest clue as to why they banned it, but as far as I can see it doesn't affect anything.

@ Hard wired: You get vaccinated from viruses by injecting yourself with dead viruses. Your body sees the dead viruses as invaders, eats them, and remembers the viruses so that they can be combated if active viruses of the same strain are introduced to the body. So, I'd believe it when they tell me bird flu is in the thing that's supposed to protect me from bird flu.

And wait a minute! Bird flu infects humans now? Since when?

Humans can only catch bird flu from infected birds; human to human transmission isn't possible at the moment, I don't think.

You see that's the problem, its not free. It is payed for by
1.Taxes on the wages of the American working citizens.
2. Fiat money that is printed by the federal reserve.
and 3. Debt/borrowed money.

The first thing they teach you in any introductory economics course is that theres no such thing as a free lunch, and that applies in all areas of life, ESPECIALLY in politics on the national level. People are tricked into believing that a nationalized healthcare system is "free" either by fraud, clever wording, ignorance, or misunderstanding. The only way for healthcare to be free would be if god rained down little robot doctors from the sky to take care of us.

The reason its not free is because somebody has to pay the doctors, somebody has to pay for the equipment, medicine, labor, nurses, insurance, etc etc. The doctors are not going to work for free, because if they did they'd die from starvation from not being able to put food on the table.

For the third time now... currently nobody has government health care (because it doesn't exist), so instituting a national health plan of any kind can only result in additional lives being saved, not lost. Nobody is being denied access to private health insurance, the only question is how much free coverage will be allocated to which groups of people. Some groups will receive less coverage than others, but the result is going to be a net increase in coverage for every group. Does this make sense yet?

Others have already addressed your concerns about B6 (which are utterly trivial) and vaccinations (which are sorely misguided).

He wasn't a panelist -- he was directing his remarks to the panel. Anyway, who knows, maybe he really believes this garbage. But more likely is that he just likes to stir shit up. Hercuflea, your post touches on an important issue, namely whether now is a good time to be instituting a national health plan, considering the state of the economy and the national debt. That is a question well worth answering, but it doesn't really pertain at all to the issue at hand of the President being accused of engineering a second Holocaust.

Well yes I understand the concept of nationalisation - actually here in the UK the health service has been nationalised for more than 60 years.

The point is that as Dub has also said, all it can possibly do is result in an increase in the availability of healthcare. Suggesting that a national health service could promote eugenics is so bizarrely logically warped that it could only have come as a serious suggestion from an American and indicates either a complete and utter misunderstanding of the subject (possibly rooted in the often extreme stereotypical American distrust of left wing policies) or somebody just being completely off their rocker.

I was in your place about a year ago, and I had to learn to take all of this conspiracy stuff with a grain of salt. I don't blindly believe the official version of things either. I look at it from all angles and decide for myself what is true for me. This way I can still be "Aware". But not go off on tangents into la la land.

From where i sit: both you blind believers and skeptics, defend your arguments like a religious person defends their belief in god. Or like an atheist INSISTS there is no god in the universe.

You can't Step Outside of your perspective and look at things from all angles. You all suffer from a form of fundamentalism. Wether your religious, Atheist, Skeptic, or Conspiracy nut your behavior is all Identical to each other. It doesn't matter WHAT you BELIEVE. your style of argument mirror each other.

The real trick is to flow from each perspective to another. So you can have the benefits of seeing all perspectives. Never spending too much time in one EXTREME perspective your whole life. But, try to BALANCE both extremes.
