Repeating dreams about failed dream control

I keep having non-lucid dreams for the past few nights about trying to control my dreams, without knowing i'm dreaming.

Last night I had a dream I was trying to summon a pen, and I reached in my pocket, and it wasn't there. I tried a few more times but it didn't work.

Two nights ago I was trying to jump all the way up to the roof, and kept falling over when I tried to jump.

These are all non-lucid, and I have had 1 lucid dream where i did both of those successfully.

      Thoughts?

Maybe you are thinking too hard about trying to have lucid dreams/improve your dream control abilities.

I used to have dreams that were similar to this when I first started to have lucid dreams. The way I stopped them was to stop trying to have lucid dreams for a week or so, and not to feel so urgent about doing it. Our stresses can manifest themselves in our dreams. Are you stressed, or feel worried about whether or not you're going to have a lucid dream? Don't do that. Relax, you have a whole life of epic dreams ahead.

Do a reality check every time you imagine yourself dreaming or think (seriously) about being lucid. That's what I would reccomend. If you increase your general awareness of this, you could turn those to lucid dreams.
