Not being a part of your own dream

      Is it possible?

Sometimes I have dreams where there are people that I have never even met before in it and I don't remember me being a part of the dream. Like I am hovering around, sort of like a ghost and just watching everything unfold but I don't have an actual body. Plus the dream is not related to me in that it is their, the dream characters, story unfolding.

I have had a lot of dreams like that. Almost like watching a movie but more real.

Good, at least it's not me only. I guess those types of dreams are pretty hard to become lucid through as you don't even have a body.

Most of my dreams are like that. I wonder if it means anything...

I'm glad someone brought it up, I had a dream like that the other night... It was like I was watching some reality TV show (which I don't generally do) but I had no awareness of myself, I was just watching a small piece of someone else's life and I knew things about what was going on that weren't stated. I thought it was odd too, but apparently it's not that uncommon.

I have dreams where it's like watching a movie.

I have dreams that are all text based communication like DV or email and I am disembodied

I have dreams where I am someone else entirely, different age or gender.

I have had a dream where I was a giant goose.

I have conceptual dreams that are just ideas, like a statement or a question in my mind for example "Is seasonal hunting cruel? No."

I also have dreams where I am just me like in waking life.
You may say I'm a dreamer.
But I'm not the only one

I get them often and they are more often than not based on video games, I believe this may be the direct cause for me. When engaged into a game, I have reduced awareness of myself to normal, my attention is shifted from my world into the games world. I imagine that in a dream, this effect is only amplified to a point where I have no feeling of me at all but am probably meant to be sat in front of a screen. I'm not one for watching TV but I imagine the same concept could apply?
