ever notice different dream settings can share a certian feel?

this is kinda hard to explain but ill try. many of my dreams happen in the same place, sometimes distorted versions of my waking life, sometimes fake. i never really ever picked up the "feel" of dreams before, but i was just thinking about my dream settings. i can make a map pretty much of places ive had dreams in, a few have actuall roads connecting them, and some i just have a general feel of where they are, and they arent really in the same place as they would be irl. then i noticed i can put dreams on the "map" even if its the 1st time ive had a dream in that spot and didnt visit any other places. i know where the places are because i can feel they are close to another spot ive been to, so i think that many dream places have a general feel or mood to them which is shared with other dream places, and your mind can pick up on the connection and tell where you are. the places with the same mood are always close toghether for me and i often transition between them in dreams, and i think it will be interesting to explore my dream world in a lucid to get a better map. anyone else have thoughts or similar experiences?

This seems true for some groups of dreams, but not all. Many of my dreams have the same feel to them, the same 'atmosphere', and some even take place in the same location with some superficial differences. But in general, the places my mind comes up with for dreams are too different for what you describe to apply.
