Weird dream a while ago

So this dream shouldnt have been frightening but for some reason it freaked me out badly. I dreamt that there was some sort of party at my house (with family and the like). It was getting fairly loud so I stepped out back and looked at the stars. I was looking specifically at Orions Sword/Belt all the sudden from the middle star of the sword came a brilliant flash lighting up everything. I heard the people in the house gasp and react to the flash for well under a second and then I was awake. Once I woke up I was full of nervous energy I wasnt exactly scared, just something like shocked I guess. It took a few hours before I was calm enough to go back to sleep. Anyone have any ideas if this dream could have meant or been about? Thanks.

My immediate thought is that there was a loud sound that woke you up. In real life dreams last just a split second and this dream could have been a manifestation of a sound that woke you.
