      recurring theme: romance

every two weeks or so, i have a vivid dream of being intimately involved with someone (whom i've never met before) romantically.

they always seem to be over the course of a day, at the most. it's always a brand new relationship, and the subject always seems to be the perfect match for me.

it feels to me like every time, i'm dreaming about the same person that i haven't met before, even though their appearance is always a little bit different.

this has been pretty consistent, so i think it must be significant. anybody have any similar experiences or any thoughts?

Romance in dreams is pretty normal for me, even when the dream has no plot line its self.

I also only responded to this because the thumbnail of the avatar of yours looked real 0.o

I get this pretty regularly too... I've said in response to another thread that I think it is probably your brain subconsciously highlighting traits of your 'ideal' partner described by your genetic predisposition and social programming. Also, these dreams train you how to react when you encounter someone who has many of these traits.

I'm thinking romantic relationships are weighing on your mind at the moment. Not necessarily conscious thought, but perhaps a general desire.

Highlighting traits of ideal partner: Absolutely. One of the things I always remember about these dreams is how the relationship transcends all the ones I've had in waking life. I tend to give more than I take, and typically I choose people who take more than they give. But in these dreams the subject always 'gives'.

Training for when I do meet someone with those traits: Makes sense too. It's like practice runs. So I'll be less likely to mess it up when it comes around I guess.
