I had my first lucid dream as a 7-8 year old. I was in an aquatic center, observing the people swimming, when I suddenly realized that I was dreaming. It felt so real that I wasn't completely convinced, so I restrained myself from doing anything crazy (like streaking ). Before I knew it, the dream was fading. As everything faded to white, my elementary school teacher appeared and advised me to spin, because that will keep me from waking up. So I spun, and the dream was prolonged for a few seconds before fading once again.

And just this year, as an 18-year-old, I learned what lucid dreaming was. I had absolutely no knowledge of LDing as a kid, yet somehow my subconscious knew that spinning around keeps the dream from fading? Does anyone else find this odd? Is there a possibility that we have a subconscious knowledge beyond our past experiences? Or was it just a weird coincidence?
