Before you knew about lucid dreaming

What did you do before you knew about lucid dreaming in terms of influencing your dreams?

When I was younger like 7 years old, I use to want to go skydiving and i would watch those videos of people that use those boards while falling, so I use to lean a pillow against my feet so that I would have a sky diving dream and that seemed to work more than half the time even though I almost never had a skydiving board attached to my feet.

I use to attempt WILD even though I never heard of sleep paralysis but before sleep or just in the middle of the day I would pretend to dream about these fantasy places like a river in a forest and I would be the only one there in that world. There were many things that I wanted to do but I never managed to get a dream out of them.

Then some odd years later I saw this episode on spongebob were he exited his dream like an out-of-body and visited his friends dreams and made them become lucid (see my signature). After seeing that a few times I wondered if it was possible to control dreams. So I browsed google and then found this website.

Now I have real lucid dreams

well, before lucids I often dreamt of flying after doing a lot of artistic work or accomplishing something difficult, so I guess I strived to do those things

Before I new about lucid dreaming on sometimes I would know I was dreaming and get on a broomstick and try to fly. I would concentrate really hard but I only would end 5 centimeters off the ground. Oh and I also used to kiss random hot Dcs

      Very bizzare

As for me, well, I didn't really do anything. I loved it whenever I remembered any dream and always tried to interpret it unless it was obvious to be some normal dream

Before I knew about lucid dreaming, the only real influence I attempted on my dreams was to stop nightmares.

I looking up some way to prevent them when I stumbled on a site that mantioned lucid dreaming.

Just dream incubation, thought of the dream I wanted right before going to sleep using my special pillow. I can't fall asleep on my back anymore so this doesn't work.

When I was younger I used to have accidental DILDs.
I remember trying to fly, and when I start doubting I would lower to the ground. I would have DBZ dreams mostly, and I could even Kamehameha! lmao~ I had Sailor Moon dreams, too. I was Mercury once, but I hated her so I was annoyed >_> I did her bubble attack thing... I'd become lucid during a lot of nightmares when I was young, too.

      DILDs were common then.
In fact, its half what led me to this site.
I had a vivid dream at some point, and later in the day thought about how I used to control them when I was younger. And then I thought, well shouldn't I be able to now? That among other reasons. I did a search and Voila, I get "Dreamviews" & start reading on it. At the time of course, I had no clue it could get so much more intense/vivid.

I've been able to become lucid in dreams on a regular base, long before I heard what lucid dreams are.
I used to imagine where I wanted to go before I went to sleep. When I focussed hard enough, it usually worked. These were wishes like being in my favorite amusement park or something.

Now I sometimes meditate before I go to sleep and when I do, I can be almost sure of a WILD or DEILD the same night.

      See the similarity?

When I was real young I would have alot of stuffed animals on my bed and I thought they protected me from nightmares. I actually stopped having them because of this. I also actually can remember a couple lucids from my childhood. I remember knowing I was dreaming and being a little rebellious in them, but I had no idea of the potential of a lucid nor really what it was. I also used to enter sleep paralysis all the time and force myself awake and wonder wtf was going on. I probably missed out on 100 WILDs over my life, lol.

I tried to do something like MILD when I was younger. When I was asleep, I told myself to remember the next thing I see is fake. Never worked.

I was always fascinated by my dreams , even before I knew I could directly influence them.

Started lucid dreaming at 9. So never really thought about it...
But i always wished i could prevent my nightmares. And then suddenly i was able to . Made me a happy child hehe. Was never about actually doing something in a dream. Because i love the randomness in a dream. It was more about avoiding the horrors. Even today i rather act along, as if i dont notice im dreaming unless its a nightmare

When I was 5-6 I didn't know about lucid dreams but I would have them. I had a reoccuring nightmare of being chased by something like a man-bear-pig lol and one night I just said this is just a dream... I can just wake up and I would pinch myself and try to wake up but I couldn't, I would just stay in the dream lucid... wtf I wish that would happen now haha.

I spent years studying dreams, consciousness, and the steps leading to dreaming.
I was about seven years old.
By the time I was ten I was able to control my dreams.
By eleven, I could fly in all of my dreams, whether I was lucid or not.
I am twenty seven now, and I can do anything that my imagination can keep track of.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

Absolutely nothing. My dreams would just happen, and I'd record some of the really good/bad ones. LDing was a complete shock when I realized it was happening

im a lot like a couple of the people here in that i was plagued by nightmares until i learned to control them. it wasnt until i got to college and met other people who actually have never controlled their dreams that i looked into all of the other fascinating things becoming lucid could do!

When I was 7 or 8, I could sometimes tell when I was dreaming. I could then wake up whenever I wanted. I would bulge my eyes and it looked like I was going Super Saiyan. Oddly enough, whenever I did this, it would be 7:00
      It was cool.

Before practicing getting lucid, I was one of those people who thought that they rarely dreamed. I typically recalled only a handful of dreams per year.
