If she's present in other dreams as well she may be your dream guide. What do you mean by lazy eye? |

I had a really weird LD last night where I was aware but could not control the dream. I had this DC who was this girl around 18 or 19 and right as I looked at her I noticed she had this weird lazy eye and I cracked up laughing, but she thought it was funny too so she also was laughing. After that, we had this weird sort of childish amorous relationship through the rest of the dream as she went and introduced me to DCs that she was with. It was like this weird lazy eye girl was my guide to the entire dream and we had this sort of amorous relationship so when she brought me to meet the other DCs it felt like meeting her family almost, but they were obviously just friends and such. I can't give much description on set and setting because my memory of it was blurry when I wrote it in my journal. |

It is only as significant as the experience it brings you. |

Interesting idea and I agree with you, but I mean more in terms of like symbolism and significance to the real world, for example I read somewhere that DCs can actually help you solve problems that you are having in real life, I was wondering if anyone could maybe cite and example of that kind of DC I guess I'm also just curious as to whether something like that is common or not. |

If you expect a deeper significance from something you hallucinated while mostly unconscious it's likely you're either going to be disappointed or misled. |

Yeah, well I get what you mean in terms of overanalyzing and everything but you cannot deny there is a connection with lucid dreaming self awareness. Especially because in order to obtain lucidity you have to be aware of yourself in the dream. And really dude I think its pretty damn ignorant to dismiss lucid dreams as mere "hallucinations", obviously a lot of them have deeper significance and meaning, I mean this forum has an entire section called beyond lucidity!! Also, one induction technique into lucid dreams that I have seen a lot in research, is meditation. There's actually a topic about it if you paste this at the end of dreamviews [dot] com (I still cant post links ) /f49/meditation-induced-lucid-dream-108243/ and meditation is completely about awareness of self and going into the subconscious mind and a lot of people find answers! So who's to say that one can't find answers from the subconscious mind in a lucid dream? I'm not saying my dream had any real significance, if anything it was just weird. I just wanted other people to share their experience with significant DCs so I could better analyze and understand my own DCs. Anyway, I should move this topic to that beyond lucidity section to hopefully get a more helpful and open minded response. |

Unless I'm deliberately paying attention, most of the time when I talk to the characters in my dreams they have no bodies, faces, or even voices that make sounds. I don't even realize it until I wake up. I guess it's because I'm normally an asocial person. |

The significance of my DC's are sometimes scary in the meaning that I interpret, as in how and in what circumstance they appear, and is actually one of the reasons I resist writing a lot of things in my DJ. They're usually figures from the past that dwell in my subconscious like a tattoo on my brain. |

As soo as I get lucid, my DCs tend to get completely careless... Like, I have to tell them to jump back after I've hit them with a fire ball :S wierd... |

Well I see what you mean by the whole 'deeper signifigance' thing. In a way, that's partly accurate. Dreams themselves are made from many memories in your brain, along with many processes that go on during the dream. In that way, dreams can sometimes show things that we may have forgotten, or help us understand ourselves better, by viewing it all in an abstract way via dreaming. Just my two cents though. |
