I think that if the fan was causing you to have trouble talking in your dreams, you would probably feel like you were trying to talk, but you were muffled out by some loud continuous sound... Like you were dreaming you were under a helicopter or in an engine room, etc..

How is your dream recall? If you only remember the jist of what happened in your dream, you might not remember the dialogue?
But if you remember your dreams well, and remember that you don't talk, then that can't be it.

Perhaps you're not talking because you don't feel the need to talk in your dreams... Perhaps dialogue is not what your unconscious mind deems important to the dreams?

Mayyyyybe..... The same techniques used in MILD could work for you? When you go to bed... Try telling yourself over and over... "I will talk in my dreams... I will talk in my dreams", and believe it. For some reason that tends to work for a lot of people who have issues with their dreams. Simply believing that it will happen often has the effect of actually making it happen.

Are you really good in controlling your dreams? This might be the reason why you don't talk much.

So that's why God doesn't talk to us!
He's so good at controlling his dream... He doesn't need to talk to us!
What if God is just a dude who's sleeping, and because we're in his dream, our time is slowed down like it does in deep level dreams in Inception...
So 8 hours of Godsleep is like 100 Quabillion years in our time???

I had a long while not talking in dreams, because i was too busy controlling my dreams from stalkers, intruders etc, in times talking isn't needed, but now i have spoken to someone and is back on communicating more. We all need to balance it in dreams.

Wow, that thing you said about being muffled out is 100% true, i have the chord plugged in behind me and when i sleep, sometimes it knocks it out of the socket, and i remember that happening in one dream, the fan would shut off and my dream sound super clear and awesome, then i guess i was moving my head and it was going in and out of the socket? but i could hear the fan turn on and off repeatedly in my dream, then i woke up. and my dream recall is diminishing, its actually really scary, it kinda feels like im losing the ability to dream thats how bad it is, any advice you could give would be incredible, thanks! = ]

I seem to have the same issue, but when I become lucid I have a hard time talking.
Its like the words get stuck in my throat.

But its a dream, you have the power to change that, talk up~!

I have never ever talked in my regular dreams. (Not sure if you talking about regular or lucid dreams, since you posted in regular dreams forum).

So when I heard about people taking to DCs in their lucids, I have no idea how you do it. I didn't talk in my lucids either, until one day I "practiced" what I will do in a lucid, so I was saying out loud "stabilize" and other things. And what do you know, in my next lucid I heard my voice in a dream for the first time. I found that when I "practice", it happens in my dreams easier. Hope this helps
