Question Is There A Way To Make Your Dreams Vivid And Remember Them?

      My dreams are never vivid.

And I can almost never remember them.

Anyway to remember and gain some clarity?

B6 supplement is the only thing you need to get vivid dreams. But if you don't want to take pills then you can drink apple juice, eat mangoes or even eat bananas. Hell, Why not some drugs or herbs. Don't forget to visit Lucid aids under attaining lucidity on DV forums for aids on gaining lucidity and increasing the Vividness of the dream and recall.

The only way I know is to force yourself to start recalling and writing a dream journal. No matter how short the details are, at least you are starting off with something. You need to try to write down as much as possible. As days gradually pass, you'll notice your dream journal with longer and more detailed entries.

Sleeping longer and having undisturbed sleep helps too. If you sleep more, you'll tend to wake up for a short while several times. Those are crucial times that helps you to remember the last dream you had.

My dreams were blurry before I started dream journalling, now they are very clear.

Dream vividness increases with awareness, with awareness comes recall and lucidity.

Work on your awareness through reality checking. Auto-suggestion, MILD, etc. Try meditation.

There are no tricks, only hard work.

This conflicts with Carrot's advice, but my dreams are much more vivid the less sleep I get.

Actually it doesn't conflict. The longer your REM period, the more vivid and recallable the dream is. REM can get long if you've been sleeping for over 8 hours straight, but also if you're suffering from sleep deprivation.

There's a similar thing with caffeine sometimes. Taking caffeine before bed can increase vividness, but if you have a tolerance to caffeine and you take it every night, then NOT taking caffeine can increase vividness.
