We know how hard it is to convince someone about our dreaming logic, especially when the whole concept of dreaming don't seem to fit into psychology even though it is part of it. Dreaming is all in our mind and we can't capture our dreams and put it into a film to prove things, the only thing that can be proven is our brain activity when we are asleep.
What if someone believed in the idea of dream catcher and all bad dreams are ward off by it? I could simply argue that the dream catcher isn't the one that's preventing him from his bad dreams but the fact that he believed it would help him. For what you believe in makes a huge difference when it comes to the dream world since the dream world is all about you.
But I was astounded by his last sentence "Perhaps, it is that your life has greater purpose and has no room for negative aspects of dreaming." It seemed as though he believe dreams, especially bad dreams are bad for oneself and they serve no purpose in our lives. We all know it don't work that way, I believe bad dreams are dreams that will help us understand ourselves better, especially about our problems and from there we can attempt to solve it.
However, it seems like he is firm on his belief about the dream catcher.
