Unfortunately it does not in fact keep spinning, it can only rotate so far to the opposing side then stops. What i found to be highly interesting about this thing is that it has roman numerals ranging from 1 (I) to 13 (XIII) and then in the outer ring it has the numbers 10-90 (which i interpret to be degrees) And to add to the mysteriosity (not a word) the backside has New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Toronto with degree numbers next to it. I havent the faintest idea what those mean. It's all quite confusing. Also, it does seem very very old. I dont know if that affects anything
