Unhappy A pack of wolves interrupts my dreams and kills everyone

Hello there, I'm new to this forum.
I have a recurrent event happening in some of my dreams. Out of nowhere, I'll hear wolves howling and then they show up and slaughter everyone around me. However, they never attack me or even show any signs of aggression towards me. I'll describe the only two dreams I can remember right now, though I'm sure I've seen them appear more than two times.

The first one involved me going to a party in the city I was in while doing my student exchange. I met many friends I hadn't seen in two years, and I felt great. The atmosphere was very cheerful. Suddenly, all the lights went down and I heard wolves howling. I remember being conquered by a sensation of horror, and I was unable to move. I heard the wolves make their way into the room and start killing everybody. I did not see them, but they felt black to me. I remember the screams, and the sounds of chunks of flesh being ripped out of people. Then, I heard something like a "SWAT Team" gathering up (my dad was there with them, though I didn't see him) outside the building, and they started shooting through the walls and killing all the wolves. The bullets left holes in the wall that let daylight come into the room. I was relieved and surprised I wasn't eaten by wolves nor hit by a bullet. I was also relieved my dad had come to save me (he often did this in real life, every time I got in trouble at school), and I really couldn't believe I had made it alive.

In another dream (with many months of separation), I was partying with my classmates in what seemed like the outskirts of some small town. There was a shed, that was packed with people drinking and making out and having sex, and some others were scattered around the shed talking and laughing. Then the howling began, and this time I actually saw the wolves. They were white (or maybe grey, I'm not sure), and they too started attacking everybody. Again, everybody but me. People started running to the shed, and there was a panic. I was standing in the porch, feeling like it was my fault everybody was getting killed. Then, out of nowhere, a group of knights in shiny white armour (it sounds corny but that's what it was) wielding big swords appeared and started slaying all the wolves. They saved us, but I wasn't as relieved as I ought to be.

I'm almost 100% positive that I've had other significant dreams about wolves, even though I can't remember them. They just feel so... familiar.
I did some research and read about animal totems. I don't know if I believe in such things, but apparently the wolf is my totem. I haven't seen the wolves in a while now, and even though they killed people I was hanging out with... I kind of miss them. They looked at me like I was one of them. It's very hard to explain.

Does anyone have some insight on the subject?

      Hello There!
I dont have any real insight but I often have a similar recurring dream. Mine often start off the same way a normal often happy playful dream then I will get attacked by a random dog or wolf. I always have to fight the beast off, normally I kill it with a knife for some reason. I have no true answer for why this happens to me but because it happens so often I attribute it to my life long fight with asthma. Always popping out at the worst times but I always fight it off in the end.

This is very intriguing. Somewhere in here I've read similar dreams long ago - literally almost the same - I mean a pack of wolves showing up suddenly and killing everybody except the dreamer. Lol maybe you posted about it in the past? Or maybe they're not completely uncommon dreams, though I've never experienced anything like it and haven't read of anyone else (aside from the couple of posts I saw in here, which were by one or maybe 2 people).

Up to a point of course it sounds like a very typical dream where you think about a predatory animal and that activates the dream schema of being chased relentlessly. For me it's usually bears or dogs, and there have been dinosaurs. But that's where yours veers off radically.

      1st thought - you're a werewolf. Lol.

2nd thought (and more serious). What was going on in your life at the times you had these dreams? If you can remember you should write it down before it's all lost to the shifting sea of the past.

I suspect you might have mentioned the key to understanding it - people often do when telling their dreams. You said your dad swoops in and rescues you at times. I wonder if you sometimes feel like it's a little unfair, that you get rescued by your dad, your knight in shining armor, and your friends don't?

Doodben: So the random canine actually attacks YOU? Interesting. I think it's nice that you were able to link it to a real life struggle .

Darkmatters: No, I haven't posted anything before April. I hadn't even heard about this forum! It's so intriguing that you read about dreams exactly like the ones I'm having... Maybe I'll try to use the search function and hope to get lucky.
It's funny that you mention the Werewolf thingie, because although I KNOW that there's no such thing as human turning into wolves... I do believe I have many wolf-like qualities. Comments have been made about that by people I know. If there is truth to the belief that every person has it's inner animal, I guess mine would be the wolf.
Sadly, I cannot really remember what exactly was going on at those times. However, thanks to you and your observations, I realised something that might be the key to shedding some light upon these dreams. Let me explain a bit about me first:
I was born and raised by a German mother in Santiago de Chile (divorced parents, that never really had an impact on me like it has on other kids). In 2011, I was going through my senior year in high school and facing the decision of what to do with my future. In 2010 I spent two months in Berlin, and I kinda "reconnected" with my "german roots" and I decided that I'd move there after finishing high school, no matter what career I chose to follow. Those two months were key to developing my personality. So if I'm not mistaken, the first dream happened a bit before moving to Berlin. In the dream I was there, and a lot of the people I had met during the exchange were in that party. So I dreamt about the people in Berlin while being in Chile. In the second dream, I was dreaming about the people I had left behind in Chile, while living in Berlin already for a few months. It had never occurred to me that there was this connection.
I don't know what it means, but I guess it must be some kind of guideline of some sort. Maybe the wolves killing everybody off represents some kind of detachment, or maybe even the opposite. Maybe I missed what me knowing those people represents to me. It seems obvious to me now that I am the wolves, or that the wolves are a part of me. It also (sadly) seems obvious to me that I am divided into parts as an individual. One part just goes into a frenzy and kills everything in it's way, and the other one just watches in horror.

About my dad: He IS a real hero to me. I don't really see him as a knight in shiny armour though. He was the kind of father that taught me while making me struggle and fight my own battles. However, he never let me sink if he saw I was too overwhelmed and unready to face everything on my own. He, like all of us is heavily flawed in some ways, but I know that there's nothing he wouldn't do for the people he loves. He's the typical man that let's his actions speak for himself. He is a very unconventional father figure, I cannot deny that. But as much as I wished for a more "normal" dad when I lived with him, I'd lie if I said I wasn't proud to death of him and what he has taught me.
I guess my other friends always got "the easy way out" being bailed out by their dads, while mine just REALLY saved me making me fight and learn so I would be able to get by when he wasn't there any more. That's how he has saved me, I guess. I don't really think about my other friends' dads though, so I don't think it's about that.

Thank you again for your replies guys! I'd love to read whatever you have to say about this subject!

Maybe this was your subconscious' way of basically saying 'these people are gone from your life now - let's eliminate them'? I have no idea actually, just throwing that out there.

Call me literal if you will but I think you might be killing off opportunities though perhaps not while knowing it.

I'm just shooting in the dark here with a guess, Though.

Can you explain what you mean exactly? Being literal is fine.

Perhaps you're cutting off ("Killing off") possible relationships with people before they've had chances to grow.

      I think that's quite a good translation.

Well, that's kind of the story of my life because I've always moved around a lot, never really settling in.

Hopefully I'll say this well enough.

If you don't let a relationship grow, You'll never see it blossom or grow fruit.
