Thread: dream character stopped the dream?

im stil confused. in the dream i was riding on a motorcycle with someone in the backseat. we were driving through a city and strangely no one else was there. but the city was in normal condition. then i had to stop. a dream character on a motorcycle blocked the way. it was a old man of around 50 year old, grey hair on the sides, the top was bald. he didnt say anything, but he stopped me and the whole dream. i asked him if i could pass but he didnt react. i tried to get past him several times but he just shift his position a little so again i could not get past him. he just kept looking at me. he looked really grumpy, frustrated and perhaps irritated. i was not lucid. normal dreams always feel like some kind of script that is running, and everyone is just playing his part. but he stopped everything. i just wanted to continue the dream, so at the end i decided to take a different street. and at the moment i started to attempt to do that, i woke up.

why would a dream character stop the entire dream? i thought they were completely part of the dream and thus would want to keep the dream stabile. and yes i have been trying to get lucid really hard for the last week
