      When dreams interpret themselves

Two nights ago I had a dream that included an explanation of its own symbolism. In it, I was watching a cartoon where the villains were hunting rare monsters and the protagonists were trying to protect them. In the episode I was watching, a boy in his early teens was starting to become a werewolf. However, he did not want to be a werewolf and was uncomfortable with the physical changes lycanthropy was causing to his body. The cartoon was then interrupted by a non-animated segment in which a man said that being a werewolf was a metaphor for being trans; he went on to explain how people figure out that they're trans. Have any of you ever had a dream that included an interpretation of itself?

Yes. I am given explanations all the time about why things are happening in my dreams. I'm guessing there is some type of interval between no questioning, questioning the dream (explanations for what is happening), and then questioning if the dream is real... and finally knowing that you are dreaming from the get go.

Last night for instance I had 3 dreams. Two of them I didn't seem to question anything that was going on (even though one of them had a major dream sign). The final one I was given a random explanation to make sense of why a certain person was present. To be quite honest though I didn't think anything of that person's presence though... it was just like poof here is some information to make sense of this. Where did it come from? Beats me. Maybe that could be a 5th one to add to that list I just created.

Kind of: I once had a dream in which I was in a school and felt really anxious and the only option I had to get away to deal with it was to lock myself in a bathroom. Just as I was about to enter one, I heard a voice coming from inside another bathroom. The person inside sounded really worried about something, so I was pondering on whether I should go help that person and push my own anxiety aside again, or put my own needs first this time. In the dream, I felt like this decision was really significant because it would represent what kind of a person I was and how I'd let my life develop itself. (It ended with me not making any decision at all because I stood hesitating so long that the person eventually came out from the bathroom and left at the same time as a friend picked me up, but the significance of that I didn't get until I was awake)
