Devoured by ants

This dream was pretty much entirely in third person watching a young boy. He was about 14 years old. He was on a journey to find his lost sister. It was just him and his dog. He was driving his family's car to try and find her. I can't remember what the setting was like at all. The primary theme behind the story was there are giant killer ants in the area. As he was driving eventually the ants started coming for him and trying to break into the car. He has to stop the car to somehow hold the doors closed so the ants can't get in. Eventually a single ant gets in, but he's not able to do anything about it since he's using both hands to keep both front doors closed. The ant climbs onto his head and is about to bite him when he thinks to lean his head towards his dog. When he does that the dog bites the ant off of him and eats it. It was around this time i noticed a link to a previous dream. I can't remember much about the previous dream. In it my first college roommate Troy was reading some children's book with a few other guys which was about some family driving down a desolate road. It was a book where you made decisions and those decisions would affect the plot of the story. One of the decisions was to avoid some obstacle on the road. Whatever decision he made caused both the son and daughter to die. There was a different symbol shown for the son and daughter which represented that they were dead. It was both of these symbols that I saw while in the car in the ant dream. He continues driving to find his sister. Eventually he finds her in some small structure holding out against the ants. She is about the same age, 14. When he finds her, her situation does not change. Ants are still frenzied around the structure she was in, which her brother is now in with her. They both board it up and fortify it as much as they can to keep the ants out. Unfortunately the ants slowly start getting inside. The boy and girl are never able to kill an ant, so any ant that gets in will just be a nuisance and keep biting them. Eventually some of the structure panels burst completely open releasing a great number of ants. After that they are quickly overrun with ants and are both eaten alive by the ants.

Scary dream! Interesting, though.... Did it seem nighmarishly scary while you were dreaming it, or was it more like just watching a scary movie? What do you think caused you to dream it? Wonder what it might symbolize.

Do you mean the African Safari Ant, that would Devour just about anything their way? I know in real life ants can be very territorial. Is there a possibility that your subconscious is trying to deal with someone invading your privacy or territory? the most fearsome ant of all is surely siafu, or the African safari ant, also known as the army ant. These ants are native to central and east Africa and form colonies with as many as 20 million individuals. The ants are most dangerous to humans during times of drought. They will form columns 50 million strong and strike off across the countryside in search of food. The columns are easily avoided, as they go at a pace of about 60 feet an hour. The columns are defended by a special soldier class of ants. They have gigantic heads with large pincer-like mandibles with incredible shearing capacity. The bite is very painful, and because their jaws are so strong removal is difficult. Even if the ant is pulled apart into two pieces the head will retain its hold. Though the ants typically feed on earthworms, large columns can kill small mammals and eat their flesh. For those things unable to move, like say a home, the result can be devastating, or incredibly helpful, as the ants will literally eat everything edible in their path. But, hey what do I know. It was like watching a movie and I wasn't scared at all. I assume the dream didn't have any underlying meaning, it was quite random.

I wasn't very descriptive with this dream since I sometimes write about my dreams right after they happen, meaning I'd be pretty groggy at the time. The ants were not realistic at all, they were huge. Probably about the size of a fox or raccoon.

I must have read that wrong. I was a bit under the weather last night when I posted that. I definitely have had dreams like that before. However, I have learned to control the ants especially the dog-sized ants in my lucid dreams.

The other day, I had a dream about kissing bugs coming out of my mouth. It wasn't just one but, a lot of them. This was because I was talking with my brother about "Kissing Bugs". For me, it's doesn't take much for me to dream about things. moodles: Have you ever had a dream where you are about ant size? I mean, I thought I would ask? Perhaps, you need to see something in a different point of view. There are a billion of ways to interpret something, but, in the end, look inward to get the answer to your burning question. Yeah, there are plenty of people who can shrink and grow on a dime, in their dreams, because some of us have been doing it since we were small. Uh, huh? I mean since they were younger. Yeah, there are plenty of people who can shrink and grow on a dime, in their dreams, because some of us have been doing it since we were small. Uh, huh? I mean since they were younger.
