what exactly is a dream guide?

A dream guide (such as on this forum) is a member of staff who helps other users with anything to do with lucid dreaming. We are available for adopting (as are other members). Basically, we help people out.
You can spot us by looking for the green stars under our names.

sorry, i ment the dream guide in dreams. that helps guide you through your dream once you find it.

My guess is that a dream guide is a manifestation of your Self that knows what you want and need. An entity derived from your subconcious, capable of guiding you towards your goals, once it has figured out how to do this while you, consiously, have not.
