I've had a series of dreams in which I am forced to drive somewhere, but when I get on to the actual road I either lose my vision or cannot keep control of the car. I'm wondering if this is some sort of message or foreshadowing of the future.

In less than a week (on december 2nd) I will be getting my license. I'm not nervous about it, at least I wasn't at first, but these dreams have made me a little nervous. I don't drive with my parents as much as most people with their permits do.

I think that I'm a good driver, but I'm wondering if these dreams are trying to tell me to get more practice before I get on to the actual road.

Here is a link to my most recent dream. I haven't posted a lot of these dreams, mainly because they are too long and haven't felt like typing them out, but I can say that I've had at least five or six of them.

      Thoughts?

Before I got my license, I had a ton of dreams where I was driving my car, and it was like I was driving on ice. The control was horrible. I kept slipping and hitting into other things, the brakes were very weak, and etc.

I did just fine on my test

I'm not so much worried about the test, I'm more worried about how I'm going to drive on the actual road. The dreams seem to have some foreboding feel to them, like they are trying to warn me to stay off the road until I get more experienced at driving.

I'm almost sure that I'll be able to pass my test because I took a drivers education class a few months ago. The thing is that I have hardly ever driven on the actual road. I'd say at most, I've driving with my parents twenty times and thats over the course of an entire year. The driver's education class didn't help much either, because we were forced to drive on a course where we weren't allowed to hit the gas (it was more of a rules class).

That's the problem then. When I first started to practice, I was pretty nervous out on the road. After like two weeks straight weeks of driving, it just became a regular daily routine montonous activity. Once you get a feel for your car, and the roads, and you fear while driving on the road subsides, the dreams should go away.

Keep in my also usually the majority of things in dreams that are mechanical are very unstable. Even if you didn't have any nervous feelings about driving or taking the test. Being anxious about the event also increases this instability.

I have to agree with freefire, I think driving in dreams is really tough for some reason. I still have trouble, and I've been driving for 8 years already. It feels similar to my difficulty running or throwing things in dreams sometimes... In fact, I've had lucids triggered when I realize I'm having difficulty keeping my car under control.

Hope your test went well Casualtie!

Been there. I used to be a stupid asshole and drive drunk and it haunts me in my dreams now that Ive realised what a prick i was being. It seems that any time i have a dream that im with my freinds in a bar or hanging out and i have to drive im drunk and i do it anyway and get in a series of accidents (ive never been in an alcohol related accident). Its really scary and just enhances me not wanting to take that stupid chance.

Forgive me if someone already said this, I didnt read all reply's. In my dreasm I have trouble running, its like running through water. So what I do is move everything in my direction, so it seems like I'm running, maybe you could try this but in a car.
