before getting my first ever SP(will get into more details later), I used to hear stories from my friends and even my mom about having experienced SP, even once saw it on television(Ghostly Encounters). They all said the same thing but it wasn't as bad as other posts I've read here. They can't move(obviously) and tend to hear strange noises. Which brings me to my question.

One of my friends said; that he wasn't able to move, and heard a buzzing noise. Then suddenly he saw a moth(wasn't like any moths, he said this one was huge) as he watched it land on him he couldn't do nothing but look at it. As it finally got up and flew away, he was able to move again.(Another friend had the same situation but it was a red light /w really loud noise, and it stood beside him rather then on top)

Then one day..this was about 4 months ago, I'm not sure if it's caused by me sleeping on my stomach(I never do, i find it uncomfitable) but I remember opening my eyes half way, and I couldn't move. I tried hard, I couldn't talk, nothing. Then it hit me, after hearing all the stories of an old hag, I was scared. scared of seeing something that I didn't believe in for all these years. It didn't last long. I'm not sure if it was my fear of seeing something got me to move again. But nothing happened. That was my first and only SP I've had

After coming to DV and reading about others people's experiences. I came upon a question. I guess this can fall under "false awakenings" also. I must say, most of these experiences are terrifying. does all FAs and SPs cause the host to see such horrible things? Like creatures, demons, monsters coming to kill you. or saying they will. If so, why? I know it's the stage of body being awake and mind isn't and all that stuff, but can it really cause such events? I mean, couldn't it create a better scenario. cept of hurting you, it helps. telling you where you are and show a way out?

You have it backwards. It's actually the mind being awake while the body is asleep. But regardless of that, you just have to keep one thing in mind. While any vision you might experience will undoubtedly be scary stuff, you just have to keep in mind that it can't hurt you. Because of the chemicals running through your brain, whatever the vision is, it's going to be frightening. It's kind of similar to a normal dream. You have to realize it's just a dream, do a reality check and become lucid. You just have to realize that it's a non-real vision, relax and focus on the HI, have a successfully WILD. =]

oops, sorry about the typo . which brings me to my question once again. it's the "undoubtedly be scary stuff" is what im interested in. all event occurs with a monster type thing trying to kill you, or telling you a death message. with all the fa and sa's experience I've read. they're all terriying moments, if it was real or not. I was just wondering why couldn't they be happy moments rather then scary ones. I mean, I know the brain creates these images. but couldnt they be more pleasing. I would hate to wake up seeing the ring or the grudge on the side of my bed(which movies scar'ed me for really long time).

I do not know why SP's are like that. I'm sure there have been good ones, its just that I think the idea of being unable to move and losing the control you once had over your body scares them. The fear probably causes the mind to see images associated with fear.

If people weren't afraid of having an SP, I don't think it would be as scary. I mean, I was scared when I had mines, and you were scared of seeing those images.

My SP/Nightmare?

I was lying there on my bed, motionless, facing a clock across the room. I cannot move, I am held against my will against something invisible to me. As hard as I try to move my arms, my attempts are futile against the greater power against me.

I look at the clock, and it begins developing into something monsterous. It begins to have something grow out from it. I can't quite explain what it was too well, but it held similar properties to water. It seemed free-flowing, but held a consistent shape and form. It began spiraling counter-clockwise. It resembled something of a black hole, but only with water.

Slowly, it began to almost suck me in. Inch by agonizing inch. But the strange part was, I wasn't moving at all. I felt as if I was being stretched out. Like having my insides pulled towards the vortex. It was a bad feeling, something I don't want to experiance again.

I kept trying to move my arms and legs harder, and more desperately now, as the feeling grew more intense. I see strange, unclear objects/things/people around me. They/it is very unclear and dark, but appeared to be of the same material as the vortex. A water form creature, that was very small. (About 1-2 feet tall), and there were many of them around the base of my bed.

I began to think in my nightmare that if I moved, I would be totally consumed in the vortex. I tried calling out for help. A cry for aide. Twice I tried it, but no sound escaped my mouth. No utter of attempt, nothing. Just the deafening silence of my insides being pulled.

It may have been a dream though, but I just feel asleep, and awoke to being drenched with sweat.

My Story (this is 100x easier then pretty much having to type the same replies over and over again hehe)

(You don't need to go to the second page, but it pretty much sums up my experiences before I found this site)

I've read that there are numerous experiences that SP suffers can have. Mine have been stressful, scary, and frustrating. I've been fortunate in that they weren't "terrifying" and I haven't seen or felt the malevolent presences (ghosts, demons, etc.) that others sometimes hallucinate about.

For me it consists of tingling in my upper body, feeling weighted down/dragged/pulled across the floor or bed, and hearing people outside my house breaking in or playing with the door locks. The worst part is just not being able to move not matter how hard I try.

I was a bit scared at the time, but in retrospect, my SP was kind of cool. I woke up, and instantly it was like I felt a lead blanket fell on my body. It was a perfectly even push on my body that was kind of like super-accelerated gravity pressing on me. Then, it seemed like there was a tornado in my room. It felt like everything was blowing around in a circle, especially paper, but I couldn't turn my head to see it (was facing the wall). Then, everything dissipated, like one of those movies where someone says the magic words and the storm instantly blows into oblivion and the zombie goats turn back into people. I was covered in sweat, but only on the side of my body that the "blanket" fell on. And as soon as it was over I became really relaxed. The whole experience was suprising more than anything else, but generally pleasant after the fact.
Do a reality check.

Okay, now do it again.
