This morning as well with many many uncountable times, I'd be dreaming and at the last several seconds of the dream I feel like i can sense my grandpa coming to wake me up(or waking myself) and I just know im going to wake soon, and sure enough, I awoke to my grandpa yelling at me to get up lol.

I'm just wondering if this is common for other people or am I just weird like that?

AND im a very easy person to wake, I actually wake up instantly with a kinda shock(dont know why) so it cant be that he was yelling at me while I was still dreaming and think of that, then wake.

so somebody tell me if im as weird as you lol

I know exactly what you mean man. Like some how I can sense that my alarm clock is about to go off in my dream, and then it does. I can't explain it, but I know exactly what you mean.

Actually, I think this happened to me last night. I was able to choose when waking up, and I kept it off for a couple of minutes.

"AND im a very easy person to wake, I actually wake up instantly with a kinda shock(dont know why) so it cant be that he was yelling at me while I was still dreaming and think of that, then wake."

Why can't it be? Does he yell at you the moment he comes in, or does he start by talking not as loud? Do you really know?

Also, I have a theory of my own... not a great one.. but maybe before your brain "processes" the yell, you sense the processing within your dream through time dilation and are like "okay, he is about to yell at me (i.e. I am about to percieve the yell he already did)"

Or possibly just that you heard the yell, didn't wake up yet, and by time dilation you were in the dream for a little longe.r

Another thing is that does your grandpa wake you up at the same time every day? Sometimes I've woken up within 5 minutes of my alarm, and especially when I tell myself to or I really want to get up (I wake up at like 5:59 or 5:57". Your mind has a great "internal clock" and it knows when something so habitual is going to happen.

Hard to say. When I was about 17 I was staying at my grandmothers house and was sleeping in a room to the rear of the house. In my dream I was floating in front of the house, observing as some relatives drove up, got out of the car, and walked towards the front door. As soon as they turned the knob, I was sucked down a black hole and awoke. I got up and went into the hallway only to see those relatives coming in the front door.

There was no way I could have heard anything. I have precognitive dreams fairly often, so who knows. This was the only time I have ever been able to view real events while "out of body" (only way I can describe it). Unfortunately I wasn't doing it on purpose, and I was not lucid, so it is impossible to consider it as evidence of anything but precognition perhaps, which I already know is real.

Correction: There was a recent event where I watched as a spider came down from the ceiling and landed on my face. Guess what I woke up to? Yeah that sucked....

I know what you are talking about. I do the same thing in the morning. Actually more often than not, I wake up 1-2 minutes before my alarm is set to go off, no matter if it's early or later. But I can also sense when the cats are going to wake me up if I didn't set an alarm.

This is off topic, but I think it's kinda funny. Titus (the brown tabby cat) will only let me hit my snooze button 3 times before he doesn't let me go back to sleep. He gets all excited when my alarm goes off, then he goes quiet again when I slap the snooze, but he only allows it 3 times and then he gets aggrevated that I'm not getting up to feed him - I swear he knows how to count! LOL

      You're not alone at all!

I believe we have experienced the same thing.

It was awhile back but I was swimming at my Cottage in my dream .I wasn't lucid but I knew that I've been in my dream for a long time and I started questioning when I would wake up. Suddenly I couldn't see but I could feel the water and hear the sounds around me . Then I could no longer feel or hear I could sense my bed and then I could feel the bed. For me I believe it was a gradual pulling out of a dream.

yea he does wake me up the same time everyday. and I know its not that I can hear him in my dream because I usually wake up to just the door opening. but in my dream it feels like I can hear or sense him walking towards my room and im like ok im about to wake up...when i use an alarm this never happens for some reason. but thanks for all the feedback atleast I know its not uncommon.

I feel like I'm gradually pulled out of my dream too. I'll feel myself in my bed before I wake up, and sometimes I'll have to ask myself if I'm awake or not.

NightmareOnElmStreet, I always sense myself about to wake up. I can't describe it, it's just a feeling I get in my body. And like you I sense my mom coming to wake me up. Most of the time I still pretend I'm asleep in hopes she'll go away. but yeah I think that's a common thing...
