Just an idea I've been wondering about recently. Is it possibly that dream sequences are generated by what is going on in our subconscious minds at the time? Like, you dream about things that subconsciously you wish were true?
I only ask because I was reading a book which mentioned 'wish fulfilment dreams', where you dream about things you want to be true. But after a few dreams where things happen which I only realised AFTER the dream were what I wanted to happen, so I wasn't aware I wanted them until I dreamt about them and realised (if that makes any sense?)
My logic goes that if it's something that is deeply rooted in our subconsciousness, we might not actually be aware of it. So when we are asleep and our conscious self is not in the way, we are exposed to the thoughts that we aren't usually aware of. So if I dream of doing something I've never thought about before, and in the dream it makes me really happy, then I wake up and realise "Actually, that would be amazing!", is that something which I've subconsciously wanted to do for a long time?
[I'm having a hard time explaining what it is I'm thinking, so apologies if this is a tad confusing. I'll have a think and try to explain it better. - Dickie ]
