      Dream Continuations

I have been having these more and more lately where I dream something one night and a week or two later I continue the dream where I left off or time passes by and I continue from there or I just end up in the exact same place but under totally different circumstances. I'll give you an example that I posted earlier today on a group I am in. And this is a real actual dream continuation that happened to me btw.

      PASTED
"Well I've been noticing something sort of odd in the last year or so. I've been having dreams that are continued on another night. For example, I had a dream about a week or so ago where I and a friend found some beers on the side of a mountain and we left them there, I guess for later. When I returned to my supposed home I could see the case distinctly on the mountainside. I remember when I woke up thinking it was funny that we left the case of beer there and didn't take it home and drink them.

So then last night I had a continuation of this dream but this time I saw some kids around the case of beer on the mountain. The case of beer was in the same spot and the case was the same color and everything. So anyhow, the kids left and I immediately went over to where the beers were and they obviously took a few but I grabbed the rest of the remaining beers and this time I took them home so the kids couldn't come back and take the rest.

Well, I noticed I am having these dream continuations more often all the time and thought it was kinda strange. But they are never upsetting and almost enjoyable as I get to see what the outcome of the original dream is."

Anyone else experiencing this or has in the past?

Not really, alhough I've certainly found myself re-visiting places that I have only seen in my dreams. The context is usually different, though.

      Examples:

      - A hill or mountain which is long with its summit at one end. I like walking ridges and suspect there's an unconscious link there.

      - A theme park with rides that start by walking up to a height then dropping on a roller coaster or water chute of some type.

      - some kind of hotel with narrow corridors and oldstyle gold / burgundy colour scheme.

Inetersting that we have both had mountains featured in this context.

Hmmmm, I wonder if we both had the mountain theme because we each love mountains or just because mountains are a common image in our minds that we see all the time. I mean, we see mountains on logos in the advertising world. We see them in comercials and movies. We see them on currency and different monies from all over the world. And in real life to.

Well where I live now I don't have any mountains so I ma probably missing them. I tend to dream a lot about things I miss which is why I dream of water at least once a week and usually 2-3 times. I love fishing and you can't fish without water.

Mountains, and land forms in general I suppose, are big things for me. I like exploring and I look at maps a lot. Perhaps it's not to surprising that my dreams are like that too. The feeling of climbing to the top of a mountain in real life is not dissimilar to being on top of a mountain in a dream. Ditto being at the bottom and looking up.

Curiously I had a hill dream last night, only this time I didn't climb it but followed a marked path somewhere else instead.

Wakeful imagery and dream imagery do seem to be similar, like with your fishing.

I purposely do this on a very regular basis. But on the same night instead of days later.

Something that is rather fascinating though is that when ever I have these dream continuations, it's only once. I never have them for a third or fourth time. It's sort of like my mind is telling me that the dream was not concluded the other night so it needs to play out on another to it's completion.

And on another note wouldn't these even be considered a mild form of recurring dream even if they only recur once?
