This sounds cooler than it really is, but it was neat.

Last night my wife was having a nightmare. I know when she is because she makes those sounds like someone screaming with their mouth shut.. It's cute and funny to hear it from her..

So, I decide to see if outside noises will influence her nightmare. I start whispering to her things like "Chocolate, flowers, strawberries..." She quieted down and abut 15 seconds later woke up.

I asked her what was going on in her dream because she was making those funny noises again. She said "Dumb dogs... had me pinned at the farm..."

I ask her "But it must have ended since you're up? What happened?"

She said "You came out of the barn and scared the dogs away..."

While I was trying to introduce nice things in her dreams to end the nightmare, what I really did was introduce myself and saved the day! I thought that was even better. Would have really rocked if I was carrying chocolate, flowers and strawberries! hahah...

      Fascinating.
Either way you saved the day.
I have tried to spark lucidity for my wife at times when I new she was sleeping.
I would tell her, you are dreaming and such.

Did you whisper or speak at a normal tone?
      Monotone?
A repetitive phrase or sentences, like a conversation?

      Sorry for all the questions.

It was very cool. As for my tone, I whispered. I wanted it to be loud enough for her to hear subconciously, but not awaken. I was just getting up anyhow to try a WBTB (doesn't seem to work well for me though) and when she told me I scared away the dogs I did a powerflex for her. She kinda giggled and went back to sleep. I teased her all morning about it... it's funny stuff. Screaming/yelling with your lips/mouth closed... ahha...

She always has weird animal attack/snake/etc dreams that freak her out. I ask her if she realizes she's dreaming. She says "yes, but it is still scary...."

I tell her I think she doesn't know she's dreaming until she's awake. That's totally different. I don't think she understands. I've explained my lucids to her (both DILDs and more recently WILDs) and how she could do it if she really knew she was dreaming at the time, and she just rolls her eyes.

In a way, I was trying to affect her dream last night, but maybe also trigger lucidity. I know if she did it ONCE she'd love it and try it again and again.

Also, ever since I started lucid dreaming, I have not had ONE nightmare. They are too easy a dream sign for me so my SC seems to stay away from them I think.. lol

That's cool, introducing things into your wife's dreams by talking to her, too bad that she's never been lucid or understands what it feels like, I hope she understands you one day soon.

I talked to her again tonight and she swears she knows she's dreaming and that's why when she has a nightmare she trys to force herself awake. I told her this..

"Ok, next time don't try to wake up. Dreaming is good. You need to dream to feel rested. So instead of forcing yourself awake do this.... Look at your hands. Start rubbing them together and focus on the heat caused by the friction. Then tell yourself you can do anything. Use the 'force' and throw the animal that's bugging you far far away, or shoot it with laserbeams from your eyes, or imagine a gun in your hand and shoot it... then try to fly..."

Again, she look at me like I was weird. But I told her once you experience lucidity, you'll understand where I'm coming from and why I am so excited when it happens. I know if she did anything neat, espeicially flying, or had the smallest amount of control in a dream she'd wake up and tell me how cool it was and that I was right... You just don't know until you experience it.

I told her if she really knows shes dreaming that often, enough to try and wake herself, she has a gift that many of us would would LOVE to have. The more lucidity I experience, the more it seems my SC tries to block me from becoming lucid. WILDs are my last hope. DILDs are becoming few and far between.
