I do have dreams similar to that. But instead of them not listening to me, I am unable to talk. I feel like I have something important to tell them, but no words come out of my mouth and DCs just stare at me... |

Every so often I have a dream where a DC won't shut up and listen to what I'm trying to tell them. It's like they are too stubborn to allow me to say what I want to say to them. It reminds me a lot of when a child puts their fingers in their ears and goes "La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-I-can't-hear-you-la-la-la...". They seem to be rambling obnoxiously just to drown me out and get me to stop talking to them. |

Sometimes my DC's seem like uncaring automatons just going their own way and ignoring me. That is especially bad when I am in a crowd, or if the DC is someone I know. |
|
Thats happened to me before too. Its so annoying. Then I try to fight them or something to get them to shut up and they'll just run away. |

Dreams
Like the dishes still asking to be washed, things will not be solved by covering them with a blanket.
That might work. I could have used one last night in a dream where I was trying to dispatch a crowd of people but couldn't shout. So I had to go around and tell each person individually to get the hell out of my home. Of course, if I were lucid things would have been a bit different. |
|
There could be something very important that needs to be said and nobody wants to listen. |
|
Does this happen in normal dreams or Lucid ones? Or both? |

I had this problem when I first started lucid dreaming. Once I'd got over the - waking up because your so excited your lucid stage, I entered the - pestered by DC's who wont shut up until you've forgot your lucid stage. I tried running away and hiding but that usually ended up with me forgetting I was lucid too. Then I made a great discovery - if you dont give DC's any attention, then they dont exist. |
|
I don't think it's ever happened to me while lucid. If I ever have a situation like that while lucid then I'll just walk away, knowing that they don't matter to me anyway, unless I choose for them to. That's assuming I'm lucid enough at the time to grasp that concept. |

Try grabbing a volume dial and turning everyone down or off. Once it's quiet enough for you to speak, tell them what you want to tell them. |

when i have dreams were i find myself frustrated or strong emotion towards something, my dream usually tries to tell me something. the dream reoccurs untill i realise that. when i see what it is all about/find a solution the dream often goes away or becomes less of a bother. |

You know something, Amethyst Star has a great idea...giving your mind a tool to work with may make it a little more beleivable that you can actually make the dream characters shut up. Try what she says, it sound akin to the "Windows drop down option menu" that some people use to perform actions in their dreams. |

I agree that a physical object or interface would be a great tool. I also like the megaphone idea. |
