Does the way you sleep affect your recall?

In almost all of the tutorials I've read about techniques to become lucid, it says to lay on your back preferrably. Before, I laid on my back thinking it would also help dream recall. This is quite uncomfortable to me. Eventually, I was so uncomfortable at night because I was falling asleep on my back that I gave up and went to sleep on my side, which is much more comfortable for me. Now, it seems my recall is much worse than it was when I slept on my back.

So, I ask, does the way you sleep affect your dream recall?

I sleep on my stomach or side when I sleep and have F A N T A S T I C recall so no the way you sleep does not affect your recall.

Witht the techniques I find it easier to do them in the way that you are used to falling asleep. For instance if you have been sleeping on your side for all of your life I doubt you are going to be able to sleep on your back very easy if at all.
