      A Lucid Dream within a non-lucid dream?

I haven't gotten organized enough yet to start a dream journal or begin any real step towards lucid dreaming, but I had an interesting, multi-layered dream I felt like talking about.

I've forgotten much of the specifics, but in a dream I was having, I was having another dream within it, which I consciously realized was a dream. I was trapped somewhere in my dream-within-a-dream and I was trying to will myself out of being trapped. It wouldn't work, however.

And then at another point, I seemed to be half awake from my real dream, but I would close my eyes, too tired to actually wake up from it, and continue my dream right where I left off. In this portion of the dream, I was talking to an old friend and some of his friends, and he had a pet worm. It bothered me because I don't like bugs. I know its exact real life source too. There was a Myspace video in which people are using various animals as phones. One person used the same type of worm from my dream as one of those headset phones. It bothered me. Anyway, the worm took flight (it doesn't have wings in real life, only in my dream) and flew near my face. I distinctly heard the sound, and I woke up, thought the bug was on my pillow, and started swatting my pillow.

Can anyone make any sense of any of that?

I remember being in a nonlucid dream and deciding to to try to WILD so I basically laid down then got back up in the same place (chemisty class) knowing that it was a dream and saying how it was alot easier than alot of the people on this forum said lol. Later I had a FA but was still in the classroom and was mad because I thought I wasn't dreaming anymore even though I was.

That worm thing is pretty funny because I'll too wake up from dreams and do dumb stuff in real life because of stuff from the dream. The best thing is to laugh at yourself. Like last night I was laying in bed listening to music and I had my hand behind my head on the pillow with my hand on the other side of my head and for whatever reason I touched my neck and I thought I was being attacked and I jumped like 50 feet (not really) but then I realized it was just my hand. I thought it was funny.

Yea, the worm thing was pretty funny. It would've been great if someone was there to see me sleeping one second, and shooting up from my bed and swatting at my pillow. Wouldv'e made for a weird explanation. "This flying worm from my dream was trying to get me."

Also, I thought of another question. The noise the bug made when it passed my head reminded me of an incident that occured to me at least twice in my life. I would be lying in bed with my eyes closed, not dreaming or even sleeping really, but not fully awake either. I wouldn't see or hear anything but blackness and silence. Then out of nowhere I hear a loud sound that seems to come from inside my head that jolts me awake. There isn't any outside explanation for the sound, which is appropriate because the sound seemed like it was definitely coming from inside my head.

      Anyone ever get this?

      Well I don't think I couldn't move. I just wasn't moving. Then I hear a terrible noise and I can't sleep.

That noise in your head, I get it too. Sometimes it is in the form of words or images... If you believe Castaneda, and you have crossed the first two gates of dreaming, then you could believe it is the emissary. I have been reading this guys words lately, and I gotta say I can't doubt its reality...to a certain point. I do think the fact that he was using hallucinagenic drugs important. But anyway, the emissary is supposed to be the alien energy in the universe that can only tell you what you already know. However you know more than you think or something...Its all confusing.
But incase you thought don juans words held any truth I thought I would give you an opinion that is alternate to mine.

I honestly think it is just your mind creating answers to questions, and producing concepts due to whatever is highest on your mind at the moment of thought. As in...I don't know if you have ever done pot, but incase you have, it would be the same as "don't think about a werewolf, or you will see a werewolf." Of course if you saw a werewolf you would probly want to pet it. I find you should only trust yourself when it comes to belief. No one else can be as an assured person to rely on.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around that. However, I've never done pot, been high or drunk, or abused any substance in my life.

Abuse is a harsh word...but either way I have never been drunk. Anyway sorry if it sounded confusing. But atleast know that your not alone in the crazyness. You'll find its all very unpredictable what dreams can do to you. Based on my own reference, and viewing other peoples encounters, it's really crazy, and its sometimes its best just to allow things to happen and not ponder upon them. Try not to think so rationally.
