The best thing is to try and write down everything -- every single thing -- that you can remember, even if it's virtually nothing. It'll all help towards rebuilding your dream recall.

People might again and again push the fact that dream journals are essential, but they're right. Keeping a DJ is one of the things that's necessary for this type of thing.

Purpose of a dream journal is to make you remember your dreams more often. I often write in my dream journal when I wake up I might not remember everything, but the more I write down the more I say,"hey! this happened too." So keep a dream journal even if it is little things. It will help.

Just write down anything and everything. Even if it seems insignificant.

A dream journal will effectively spur you on to remember more dreams in more detail. Think of it as a snowball rolling doan a hill, getting bigger and bigger.

You'll begin to see patterns that can be used as dream signs to make yourself lucid.
