      Dreaming while awake?

Well, note, I slept very lightly the night I had this happen. I woke up quite a bit thorough the night interrupting dreams. Well, it started with a normal dream, and I was in a dream. Well, I had my dream and near the end I was having fun doing something (Not appropriate). Well, anyways, I was in the dream, all of sudden out of nowhere I realised I was lieing in my bed.

Ok, well most of you by now think I had just been day dreaming ect. Well, the weird thing, what I was doing was bringing in lots of pleasure that you cannot do in day dreams (Obvously). Well, its strikes me as kind of weird.

Anyone have these expierences before? It was one of my first, I doubt I was dreaming while awake but its just weird...

      Hey Xyn,

It's quite possible to experience some dreamsensations right after awakening. It usually happens with very sudden awakenings, that 'fail' to get you fully awake. Your body is sort of right on the edge between sleeping and waking, and in that state, dreamsensations can intrude upon your waking sensory input.

It's actually pretty much the same principle as hypnagogic sensations. These too begin to appear when you're right on the edge, only in their case you're going from waking to sleeping instead of sleeping to waking. There's even an official name for them... but err, I forgot what it was

No, it wasn't JUST the sensation I was getting. It was like I was actually there, then all of sudden I realised I was lieing on the couch. Its like I was sitting there lieing away and dreaming(Like daydreaming). Then all of sudden, your like, wOW! Im awake!

I have had strange dreams when I am half asleep and half awake, and nearly slept in.
