      Trying To Figure Something Out......

      there are times i will wake up from sleep and literally see something..like just last night i woke up and i swore i saw 2 spiders in my bed...i got up and flipped on my light *my tv had been on thats how i could see before* and i literally went to the extent of taking my blankets off my bed and shaking them out, but nothing was there...

      this has happened before a few years ago and in between...i had woken up and saw a snake at the foot of my bed lunge at me, i jumped outta bed with both legs asleep, i had to crawl outta my room, i tried getting downstairs but fell, woke up my dad, and he asked whats wrong, all i could say was snake....i ended up going back to bed...

      it may sound funny, which it sort of is, but i am just wondering if anybody else has this crap happen?

      I've never had it, but it's called hynopompia. It's like the hynogogic hallucinations you get when going from waking to dreaming consciously, except you get them when you go from dreaming to waking consciously.

      Ya, that's all I know about it also. One time I woke up from a dream about eating a cheeseburger, and there looked like there was one my bed.

      Also, I've seen a huge spider crawl accross my room, probably like what you saw. I was very very sure it was real and I tore my room up trying to find it.

      Another time I woke up and saw my brother dead on the floor. I ran to my parents room and was like OMFG AARONS DEAD... when we got back he wasn't there, and he was sleeping in his room.

      I call em Hypnagogic hallucinations though.

      Your brain does produce DMT a hallucinogenic substance so maybe you just had a little burst of that eh?

      Hypnogogic = waking > dreaming
      Hypnopompic = dreaming > waking
