      Really... really weird dream

Ok... I'm going to explain all of this to the best of my abilities.

I went to my room to take a quick 30-60 minute nap before work, and it was 3:20 when I looked at my clock before laying down... So I'm laying there, and I always do some form of meditation before I fall asleep in order to relax... so I do that, and I start to have a dream where I'm in my back room playing video games, and I start to get a sharp pain on the lower right side of my abdomen... The pain felt real even though I was dreaming... I did what I normally do when I'm in pain, and that is just tell myself to relax and let it play out it's course, if it continues then it's obviously serious and I should get it checked out. So in my dream, I ignore the pain and keep playing my game... then the pain just kept getting more and more intense, and I couldn't move. I leaned forward, grabbed my side, and started to hallucinate (the room and everything started wavering and changing dimensions). I was looking around the room trying to focus my vision and call for/find help but I couldn't, and the pain kept building, it felt like something inside of me was going to explode... Then I glance to my right, and an older lady walked into the room, then turned to me and smiled while she was taking her coat off in front of my closet. I looked into her eyes and kept trying to focus, but then the pain culminated all at once, and as soon as I fainted/died/whatever, I woke up...

Everything happening in the dream felt 110% real up until I saw the lady - the second I saw her I realized I was dreaming and "died" to wake up. However, as I slowly opened my eyes from the sleep, I noticed that what I was seeing in my room was a hallucination morphing back into reality (objects were changing shape/color, then slowly morphed back to their real identity)... And the oddest part to me, is that the old lady felt EXTREMELY familiar, but I know I've never seen her in my life.

The time when I woke up was 3:47... I woke up feeling completely rested from probably not even 20 minutes of sleep. I've had some strange dreams and I've had plenty of experiences with magic mushrooms (I have not tripped in the past year however), but this tops them all in terms of leaving me with a really eerie feeling upon regaining full conciousness.

Just thought I would shoot this out there and see what people thought... Thanks for reading

EDIT: Wow... now it's gotten even weirder... I explained the entire dream to my mom, and I told her how it felt like I've known this person my entire life, and that it felt like I knew her name and I was trying to say it... My mom then asked me what she was wearing... I told her she seemed to be wearing some sort of blue gown or coat and had medium length curly, white hair - the hallucinating/blacking out in my dream prevented me from completely seeing everything in detail...

Then she hit me with this: "Holy shit Brian, that was your great grandmother! 2 days after your great grandmother died, your grandmother had a dream where your great grandmother was wearing exactly what you said, and stood up from the couch and looked into her eyes, and she woke up from the dream immediately after."

I... really don't know what to make of this anymore. It's weird as hell. I NEVER KNEW MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER! She died when I was 1 year old... There's no way I can remember what she looked like from that time of my life... wtf?

It's possible that you could remember her. Humans start storing memories short-term from the moment they're born, then long-term not long after. You could have easily remembered how she looked, even though you can't consciously recall the memory.
