      Two people, same dream

Christmas day, I had not spoken to my best friend for 4 days because she was out of town, and honestly the holiday had been so crazy I hadn't thought about her much. That night I had a dream that I was driving in my car across a bridge, her in the passenger seat, while trying to find a way to prove to her that I'd seen a ghost. Then, I saw the ghost right before us on the road. The car started to drive right through the entity and I was desperate to find a way for my friend to see her. I reached out to her, tried to grab her hand, but she is a ghost, so the only thing that I could hold on to was a bar of soap that was in the ghosts hand. (weird) I was showing her the soap saying, "see, the soap just appeared in my hand, now do you believe me?" but at the same time I was so scared that I stopped driving and we spun around, crashed into the cement barricade on the bridge.
The next night she called me, hysterical about a dream she had. She said she woke up in tears because of this dream, where I was driving, her in the passenger seat, we drove towards a bridge that we didn't realize was out and crashed into the water below the bridge.
Both of our dreams featured the same bridge and we had the dream the same night and we both woke up really disturbed. When we realized we had almost the same dream we were even more upset. What is the likihood of this? And what could it mean?

I'm not sure what your and your friend's dreams mean, but I don't think I'd go driving over bridges with her anytime soon.

We have actually driven over that bridge twice since then, once when I was driving, once in a cab, both times she got really pale and was gripping the door like we were about to die, but I haven't really had any anxiety over it. I believe most dreams like that are filled with "symbols". The whole idea of it just boggles my mind.

That is very strange that you had the same dream.

I've been in a simiar situation where a friend and I had the same dream (except we had exactly the same dream) and it can be sort of freaky. I have read on a mutual dreaming site that sometimes dreams "mesh" and specific elements/themes are in both peoples dreams so it's either that or your subconsciousies (sp?) interpreted recent events in your lives in a similar way

Everything makes sense once you stop thinking about it
