      Day dreams or normal dreams?

A lot of times, in the late morning such as around 7 or 8, and when sleeping in an uncomfortable place such as the school bus, I have these "dreams" that feel more like just normal thoughts, but more vivid. I'm not sure if these are just daydreams or normal dreams, because while experiencing them I'm still somewhat aware of the outside environment and don't feel like I'm sleeping. What would you call these?

Maybe it's just a sleepy day dream. I get them, it's like when you go into a trance and forget where you are and then suddenly your back where you are.
      I don't think it's a lucid. I think it's just getting lost in thought

It depends on how deep you go.
If you hadn't moved for a few more minutes then you would have fallen asleep.

Happens to me a lot on buses. I keep missing my stop by about 6 miles.

ROFL!!! ouch. I remember once I did it in class and was just thinking about something completelyrandom (I think I was thinking about thinking O.o) and the teacher spent a few minutes tried to de-space me out lol.

but nullbyte, I don't think it's a lucid though...I think that maybe you were just so lost in thought you forgot everything around you. When I was about 7 or 8 I could do it on a whim. lol. I used to win a LOT of staring contests that way!!!

yeah, i had this on the trip back home from school alot. I would think and think and then suddenly I would kinda "wake up" right at my house, but it didn't feel like I fell asleep.

And a wierd thing is is that I can't remember all that I was thinking the whole way. As if my thoughts got so abstract that I wouldn't be able to make them out anyway. does that happen to anyone aswell?
Dreaming is forgetting the basis of reality, remembering it is to be lucid.

Yeah I get this all the time. It seems like your brain is working like it is a dream, just lost in random thoughts, but the dream world isn't there. It's so annoying when I forget something I was thinking about literally 3 seconds ago.

Oh man this is crazy. It usually happens to me when I am just zoning out. I will be thinking about something like the other day I was thinking about ice-skating. All of a sudden I thought about slipping and my leg randomly spazzed out as if I had slipped.

Yeah, I think in it's most common sense, it's known as "zoning out'.

I like to think that it's a portion of where you get into deep relaxation, and maybe some dream scenes start to appear, but they are so minimal, that it doesn't really immerse you as much as a normal dream would. I used to have these alot in class, but I obviously wasn't having as great of sleep as I would if I was in my bed, at home.

So, I like to think it's different from a day dream, and just a very early start of sleep, or deep meditation/relaxation.
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.
